In this ever-changing environment, we understand that you may well feel in need of some added flexibility, so please see below a number of recent enhancements we have made to our cancellation and transfer policies.

We strongly suggest you visit My Cunard at my.cunard.com to ensure your contact details are up to date (please make sure all fields are completed). Due to the current situation and how quickly things are changing, it's important to be able to keep you informed of the very latest information. We want to stay in touch with whatever way you choose, however, we recommend at this time, that email is the quickest and most efficient way to contact you.

Existing bookings impacted by our temporary suspension.

For bookings departing before May 15, 2020.

For all guests impacted by our temporary suspension, we are offering you a Future Cruise Credit of 125%. Your Future Cruise Credit can be used for a new booking made before December 31, 2021, on any Cunard voyage sailing before March 31, 2022.

New final payment and cancelation fee policy.

For cruises sailing July 1, 2020 through September 30, 2020.

Enjoy greater flexibility! We have now updated the Cunard Final Payment due datereducing it from 120 days to 60 days prior to sailing. This change applies to new and existing bookings on cruises booked in North America.

This new policy is applicable to all voyages that are between 120 and 200 days out, or up to end of September 2020. 

Cancellation Fee schedule will be as follows

  • 31 to 59 Days to Sail: 50% of net fare
  • 15 to 30 Days to Sail: 75% of net fare 
  • 0 to 14 Days to Sail: 100% of net fare 

Existing bookings departing after May 15, 2020 and before August 31, 2020.

If you’d like to keep your existing booking, your ship and crew are ready and waiting to welcome you. We are pleased to be able to offer you some on board credit to enhance your voyage; this will be credited to your on board account and can be used for drinks, spa treatments, room service and shore excursions booked on board. The amount you’ll receive depends upon the number of nights you’ll be spending on board with us:

Additional on board credit per stateroom.

  • For voyages of 1-3 nights duration: $150
  • For voyages of 4-7 nights duration: $300
  • For voyages of 8-14 nights duration: $600
  • For voyages of 15+ nights duration: $900


There’s no need to call us; your on board credit will be added to your account in time for departure and you will receive an updated booking confirmation in due course to confirm this.

Booked guests with a cruise departing before August 31, 2020, will receive an email (subject to us having a valid email address on your booking).

Canceling your voyage.

Should you wish to cancel your voyage, you’ll be pleased to know we’ve temporarily relaxed our cancelation policy given the circumstances. Here’s a guide to what you need to know:

  • If you’re booked on a Cunard voyage sailing through July 31, 2020, you may now cancel up to 48 hours prior to departure.
  • Canceled bookings will receive a Future Cruise Credit equivalent to the cancelation fees and refunds will be given on any remaining funds paid.
  • The Future Cruise Credit can be used on bookings made through December 31, 2021, and can be redeemed against any Cunard voyage sailing until March 31, 2022.

Value of refunds and Future Cruise Credit.

The value of the Future Cruise Credit will be equivalent to the value of the original cancelation charges.
