Grill Suite frequently asked questions
The term “Grill Suite” has an interesting origin, one that comes from the start of the 20th century. It was around this time that the German liner HAPAG introduced an “extra-tariff” restaurant on board, which offered grilled meats. Not long after this, Cunard followed suit, but instead of charging an extra tariff, the restaurant was only available to first-class passengers. This experience evolved over the years, and such guests were therefore staying in “Grill” Suites.
Both Queens and Princess Grill Suites come with an enviable array of additional extras; however, Queens Grill is truly the epitome of luxury travel. Every day on board is tailored to your preferences. Enjoy ample private space, exquisite cuisine (including pre-dinner canapés in your suite) and, of course, the services of a dedicated butler. And this is only the beginning.
Some luxury flourishes to look forward to, if you choose a Grill Suite, include things like complimentary spring water, priority embarkation and disembarkation, and access to special, paired restaurants and an exclusive Grills Lounge and Terrace. For more details, see our page on what’s included with Grill Suites.
Those staying in a Princess Grill Suite are invited to dine at the Princess Grill restaurant, and those staying in Queens Grill Suites are welcomed at the Queens Grill restaurant. Princess Grill and Queens Grill in-suite dining is also an option, as are our alternative restaurants. Find out about dining in a Grill Suite.
Grill Suites vary from ship to ship and depend on their grade. Princess Grill Suites start at a minimum of around 300 square feet, and our largest Queens Grill Suite is an impressive 2,249 square feet. To give this a little context, our average Britannia suite is just over 200 square feet.
One way to customize your voyage, when it comes to comfort, is with the nine choices of pillow available from your pillow concierge service. Whether you prefer a thick, downy, goose-feather pillow, or a more supportive roll neck style, choose from these and everything in between to secure your best night’s sleep.
In a Queens Grill Suite, you'll enjoy a unique butler service throughout your stay.
On hand to help ensure your vacation is the best it can be, your butler will take care of the day-to-day upkeep of your suite, as well as things like serving pre-dinner canapés, arranging flowers, and even organizing any dinners or drinks you may wish to host in your suite. This butler service is available to you throughout your voyage, and you will have access through a pager or on speed dial should you need assistance, or have a request, outside of their normal working hours.
