The official naming of Queen Anne
We are delighted to announce that we will officially name our newest ship, Queen Anne, in a spectacular ceremony in Liverpool on Monday 3 June 2024, during The British Isles Festival Voyage. Hosts for the momentous occasion will be none other than the much‑loved TV personalities Matt and Emma Willis, who have recorded a special message ahead of the event.
Queen Anne's naming ceremony will take place during The British Isles Festival Voyage, her maiden sailing around Great Britain and Ireland, during her debut call in our spiritual home of Liverpool. Home to Cunard Line until 1960, Liverpool holds a special place in Cunard history, and a Cunard visit is always a spectacular occasion.
The ceremony itself will feature an impressive line-up of eminent entertainers, unforgettable live performances and surprise celebrations, on Liverpool's historic waterfront. During the voyage, guests will experience the richness and wonder of the British Isles coastline, including bustling Belfast, majestic Highland cliffs and Scottish cities. Be among the first to experience our new Queen on this very special voyage while revelling in an on board experience that showcases the best of Britain and Ireland's shores.
On board you could meet well-known performers from Britain and Ireland during an exclusive programme of dazzling entertainment. Enjoy ‘In conversation with’ Insights talks with expert guest speakers, celebrating the rich heritage and natural wonders of the British Isles. Or perhaps you’ll attend dazzling Gala Evenings and celebration dinners, created especially for this special voyage.
When you're not enjoying the Cunard experience on board, you can marvel at Scotland's majestic Highland cliffs, charming villages, and historic castles during spectacular port calls. Maybe you’ll visit the world-famous Highland Park Whisky Distillery in Kirkwall, or head into Edinburgh from Newhaven and get lost in the magical winding streets of the iconic Scottish capital.
As you glide through the Inner Hebrides, the verdant Isle of May provides opportunities to spot grey seals, dolphins, and minke whales against a backdrop of lighthouses and ancient ruins. Further along, the rugged cliffs of the storied Isle of Skye await, as does Bass Rock’s astonishing seabird colony, consisting of over 150,000 gannets; a spectacular sight to behold. Cruise through the Irish Sea to charming Cobh’s classical Victorian architecture, or take a trip to visit picturesque Cork for a true taste of Ireland.
From bustling Belfast to the untamed Scottish coast, experience the richness and wonder of Britain and Ireland on The British Isles Festival Voyage, and take part in this incredible milestone for our newest Cunard Queen.
