Built around a restored 1912 salmon cannery, the shops are 100% Alaskan-owned and there are restaurants, nature trails, a museum and even a beach. Bear watching is a big attraction on Chichagof Island which is home to more bears than humans.

    Catch the ultimate halibut fishing excursion in the abundant waters of Icy Strait, surrounded by Alaska’s majestic scenery.

    Aboard a modern cabin cruiser, you’ll seek out the hottest fishing spots where the waters teem with Pacific halibut. With no more than six guests on board, you’ll be in control of your own pole and tackle, with the boat’s mates on hand to offer tips or help with your gear.

    As Icy Strait is known for an abundance of marine mammals too, keep your eyes peeled for whales, sea lions, porpoises and more.

    Take in sweeping views of Icy Strait and Glacier Bay as you ‘fly’ 300 feet over the treetops on a once-in-a-lifetime ZipRider™ cable ride descent. It’s the highest in the US, starting on Hoonah Mountain at 1,330 feet above sea level, whose steep flanks are swathed in rainforest. You’ll reach speeds of 60mph on this adrenalin-fuelled zip-ride, just over a mile long, before it ends with a gentle touchdown on the beach at the water's edge at Icy Strait Point.


    Participants must weigh between 75 lbs and 275 lbs and must be between 4'4" and 6'8" tall. Guests are reminded to dress warmly and closed-toe shoes are required. No expectant mothers or guests with back or neck injuries. Any photographic device must have a lanyard.

    This is a dream destination for avid anglers or those wanting to try the sport for the first time.

    Cast your line in a prime destination for freshwater stream fishing in the great Alaskan outdoors. You’ll pass forests, valleys, ocean vistas and stunning mountainous scenery on the way to the crystalline waters of Game Creek. This spot offers experienced and novice fishermen an opportunity to don hip boots ready to spin cast or, for those with experience, fly-fish. You may catch Dolly Varden and cutthroat trout all season long, with seasonal steelhead, pink salmon and silver salmon.


    Guests must be aged 10 years or older. The group size is limited to nine fisherman per guide. Participants must be in good health and able to independently navigate terrain. Guests are advised to wear sturdy footwear and dress warmly in layers. This tour operates in all weather conditions. A catch is likely but not guaranteed.     This excursion takes you in search of two of the most emblematic creatures in the Alaskan wilderness.

    A high-speed catamaran travels toward Point Adolphus, one of Alaska’s premier humpback feeding grounds, where whale sightings are guaranteed. In these pristine waters, you may also spot orcas, Steller sea lions, seals, porpoises and, of course, the magnificent humpback whales. This tour guarantees whale sightings, if one is not spotted on tour you receive a refund of the whale watching portion of your tour.

    Back on dry land, head for the Spasski River Valley, where you’ll walk half a mile to elevated viewing platforms. Although sightings of the majestic brown bears, also known as grizzly bears, are not guaranteed, Chichagof Islands boast a massive population, with the highest density per square mile of any place on Earth.
