Clare Clark is the author of seven critically acclaimed novels. Her first, The Great Stink, was longlisted for the Orange (now Women’s) Prize and shortlisted for the CWA Debut Dagger. Her third novel, Savage Lands, was also longlisted for the Orange Prize. Trespass, inspired by the recent revelations that for decades undercover cops have infiltrated protest groups and conducted relationships with activists under their false identities, was published by Virago in August. Clare’s books have been translated into seven languages.
Clare reviews both fiction and non-fiction for the Guardian and is a contributor to numerous other publications, including the Times, Literary Review, Mail on Sunday, New York Times and Washington Post. She has been a member of the Cheltenham Festival Advisory Board since 2013 and chairs events for a number of literary festivals across the UK.
