With time at sea the choice, as always with Cunard, is yours. There is as much or as little to do as you please, with more possibilities than you have time to discover.

The true romance of ocean travel is never more alive than on our Gala Evenings. You’ll feel a palpable sense of occasion in the air as guests emerge from their staterooms in their finest eveningwear, beautifully attired in tuxedos and ball gowns, like a scene from a Hollywood movie.

We invite you, by formal invitation delivered to your stateroom, to a Gala Evening at least once on every voyage of three nights or more, with the dress code always revealed in advance of sailing so you can pack accordingly. 
 
On these nights you’ll witness your ship transform, with a flurry of decorations, signature dining menus and speciality cocktails. There’ll be a complimentary drink awaiting you at dinner, musicians to entertain you long into the night and a heightened sense of celebration throughout your ship. 
 
It really is a magical time to be on board.

Gala Evenings follow one of four themes – either Black and White, Red and Gold, Masquerade or Roaring 20s. You’ll find many nods to these themes in the way your ship is decorated, the musical acts performing throughout the night, and in the signature cocktails and dishes available that evening in our bars and restaurants. 
 
Our ‘What to pack for your cruise’ guide offers more inspiration on how to dress for these very special evenings on board, and for daytimes on board and on shore.

Our grand ballroom is the centre of the Gala Evening spectacle, but this isn't the only place on board you can enjoy the theme of the night. From our restaurant menus, to the bars and the Grand Lobby, little nods to the theme can be found all over your ship.

Guests can enjoy music and dancing in the Queens Room, or find beautiful sounds in our other venues. Enjoy a cocktail with friends in the Commodore Club or the Chart Room while a pianist or a string quartet serenade you and your party.
