Yes. You’ll find a café serving refreshments within the departure lounge of each cruise terminal in Southampton (Ocean, QEII, Mayflower, Horizon, and City).
As well as serving hot and cold drinks, including selected alcoholic options, each outlet also offers a selection of sandwiches, cakes, and snack foods. Vending machines are also available.

Are there refreshments available at Southampton cruise terminal?

Surprisingly for a city on the South Coast of England, Southampton doesn’t have a beach.
Cowes, on the Isle of Wight, has a shingle beach that you can reach from Southampton using the high-speed Red Jet service, which takes around 25 minutes each way. It’s a pretty place to explore over a couple of hours, with some interesting shops as well as some nice cafés, bars, and restaurants. &nbsp;
Alternatively, you can take a train to Bournemouth (approximately 50 minutes from Southampton Central railway station), where you’ll find several sand beaches, lined by a beachfront promenade that’s great for walking.&nbsp;

Does Southampton have a beach?

Southampton has great transport connections, including bus, rail and air. Guests within the UK can reach Southampton via the M3 and M27 motorways, and the port has parking available to pre-book. Alternatively, you can arrive by rail to Southampton Central (closer) or Airport Parkway stations, and reach your terminal by bus or taxi from there. If you live too far to drive, outside the UK or in the Channel Islands, you can fly either to Southampton Airport, to Bournemouth Airport (about an hour’s drive along the coast), or to any of the London airports, and get a road or rail connection from there.

How can I get to Southampton on embarkation day?

Depending on your cruise, it can take anywhere between one night and a week to reach your first port of call! Our short breaks across the English Channel call into ports the day after you set sail, so you can start exploring European towns as quickly as possible. Our Norway cruises often begin with a sea day, so you will reach your first port of call two nights after you sail. Our Mediterranean voyages are similar; you’re likely to have a sea day before your first port call in Portugal or Spain. How long does it take to get from Southampton to the first destination?

Southampton city centre is very close to the cruise terminals; depending on which berth your ship is at, it’s up to a half hour walk. Westquay Shopping Centre has a wide variety of eateries, including Italian, Greek, Japanese, and burgers, to name but a few. A little further into town is the high street, also with several pubs and restaurants to choose from. Alternatively you can walk along the front towards the Red Funnel ferry terminal, where several restaurants and local pubs can be found in a historic, waterfront setting.

What are the best food options in Southampton?

With a thriving shopping scene, a blend of galleries and museums, and no shortage of green spaces, Southampton is a great city to explore.
The city’s two art galleries, the John Hansard Gallery and City Art Gallery, are both free to enter and within a stone’s throw of one another in the Cultural Quarter. You also have the SeaCity Museum nearby, where you can discover Southampton’s Titanic story through a series of interactive exhibits.
In the Old City of Southampton, you’ll find the city’s famous Medieval walls and its most historic buildings. The Tudor House &amp; Garden, the Medieval Merchant’s House, and St Michael’s Archangel Church, which dates back to 1070, are all located in this part of town.
Southampton is also home to a charming collection of historic pubs including the Duke of Wellington, the Red Lion, and the Dancing Man, which offers unique own-brand beers in a beautiful stone building that was at one time a working wool mill.
The Isle of Wight is also accessible in under half an hour by taking the Red Jet from Southampton to Cowes.

Southampton is famous for its ports, Medieval architecture, and maritime history. You can catch a glimpse into this past all around the city, from the walls that once separated Southampton from the Solent to buildings such as the Tudor House &amp; Garden, Bargate, and the 13th Century God’s House Tower. The oldest building still in use, however, is St Michael the Archangel Church, founded in 1070. You can find this on St Michael’s Square in the city’s Old Town.
Home to two universities, and one of the greenest cities on the South Coast, Southampton is also a thriving cultural hub. The SeaCity Museum, John Hansard Gallery, and Southampton City Art Gallery are just some of its top attractions for a culture fix. But if it’s nature you’re after, make a beeline for the city’s 300-acre Common. Where are the cruise terminals in Southampton?

Southampton is a great place to indulge in some retail therapy.
Many of the city’s shops can be found under one roof in its three-tier shopping mall, WestQuay as well as numerous restaurants located around the city centre, including pubs, and Italian, Greek, Asian, American, and Mexican eateries. Among the sleek glass and steel walkways here you’ll find a host of high-street brands, including the popular M&amp;S and John Lewis, both of which also have an on-site café.
You’ll find a further selection of stores in Southampton’s pedestrianised shopping precinct, the Marlands shopping mall, and WestQuay retail park. There’s also an IKEA in the city centre, and gift shops within the city’s art galleries and museums.&nbsp;

Where do ships sail to out of Southampton?

If you plan on traveling to Southampton by train, the closest station to the cruise terminals is Southampton Central. The journey takes approximately one hour and 20 minutes from London Waterloo, 17 minutes from Winchester, four and a half hours from Manchester Piccadilly, one hour and 40 minutes from Bristol Temple Meads, and two hours and 30 minutes from Exeter St David’s.
All four terminals are a short distance from the train station.&nbsp;
To Horizon terminal, it's roughly a 3 minute drive or a about a 12 minute walk.
To Ocean terminal, it's around an 8 minute drive or about a 32 minute walk.
To City terminal, it is about a 3 minute drive or roughly a 14 minute walk.&nbsp;
To Mayflower terminal, it's roughly a 6 minute drive or about a 23 minute walk.

The nearest airport to the cruise terminals is Southampton City Airport. From here you can either get a taxi directly to your cruise terminal in Southampton or catch the train one stop to Southampton Central and take a taxi from there. Southampton Airport offers direct routes to many cities, including Edinburgh, Dublin, Glasgow, Paris, Belfast, and Amsterdam. It’s also possible to fly direct from Southampton to Guernsey and Jersey, as well as selected destinations in Europe.
You can also fly to London Heathrow or Gatwick airports, and travel to Southampton from there (approx one and a half hours by car, or two hours by train). Pre-booked car parking is available at all Southampton cruise terminals through <a href="https://www.cruiseparking.co.uk/">Cruise and Passenger Services</a>(CPS). If you wish to leave your car at the terminal whilst on your cruise, you’ll need to book your space no less than 10 days before your departure by visiting the CPS website.
If your cruise is eligible for complimentary car parking, we’ll confirm this with you at the time of booking your vacation. You’ll then be issued with a unique code to redeem on the CPS website (please allow 72 hours for activation). If you’re not eligible for complimentary parking, don’t worry, you can still arrange parking at the terminal by visiting the CPS website and booking directly. All bookings should be made no less than 10 days before your ship is due to sail from Southampton.
When you arrive at the cruise terminal for your vacation, you’ll be directed to a drop-off lane where you can unload your luggage. Your car will then be checked in and driven to a secure long-stay car park by a CPS valet, where it will remain for the duration of your cruise. On your arrival back to Southampton, simply collect your luggage and make your way to the CPS car park. Your keys will be returned to you and you’ll be directed to your car so you can start your journey home.

Yes, it is possible to commit&nbsp;ashes&nbsp;from our ships at sea. Please note the ashes will not be scattered but committed to the sea in a biodegradable container. It is dependent on certain factors and requires approval from the Captain in advance of the start of your voyage.&nbsp;
In order for the committal of&nbsp;ashes&nbsp;to take place, the&nbsp;ashes&nbsp;must be stored within a biodegradable container and the cremation certificate needs to be brought on board.&nbsp;The Captain or a Senior Officer will accompany you to an outside area, typically a lower deck and if requested they will say a prayer. The ashes will remain in the biodegradable container for the committal and will not be scattered.
Flowers for the occasion can be purchased from the on board florist or brought on board from ashore as long as they are completely biodegradable.&nbsp;Once the committal has taken place, the Captain will normally provide you with location details from the entry in ship's log.

Please note that the ceremony is not formal or religious and there is no charge to arrange a committal of&nbsp;ashes. The committal of&nbsp;ashes&nbsp;cannot be performed on voyages of 5 nights duration or less.&nbsp;The committal needs to be performed on a sea day and must be at least 12 nautical miles away from land.
Unfortunately, we are not permitted to commit the&nbsp;ashes&nbsp;of pets.

You may walk or feed your pet on board, or our Kennel Master can take care of this for you.

Am I responsible for walking and feeding my pet on board?

Our menus only highlight food options that are vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free. They will not highlight all 14 major allergens.
When you dine in the main dining restaurant, you will be given the next day’s menus showing you your available choices. The waiter can then take your pre-order with your dining choices for the next day.
In the buffet restaurants on board, there will always be a crew member on hand to advise regarding allergens and there is signage above the serving stations when food contains allergens.
We do not detail allergies within drinks; therefore, this should be discussed on board when meeting with the Food &amp; Beverage team. You should also discuss this with the waiter when ordering drinks.

Are allergens labelled in menus or beside food or drinks in the buffet?

Most Shore Experiences have prices for children, although some may have alternative ages due to age restrictions, for example on snorkelling tours. Princess Grill Suites include a selection of thoughtful in-suite touches, such as a welcome bottle on arrival and complimentary water, but drinks are not included as a standard package throughout the voyage. Beverages ordered in restaurants, bars and lounges are charged separately unless you choose to add a&nbsp;<a href="https://www.cunard.com/en-gb/cruise-deals/cunard-cruise-packages">drinks package</a>.&nbsp;Add a Signature Package when booking your voyage online and save up to 30%&nbsp;with purchasing them separately once on board.

Are drinks included in a Princess Grill Suite?

Queens Grill Suites include a complimentary in-suite mini-bar, stocked with a selection of spirits or wine alongside unlimited soft drinks, as well as complimentary water. Currently we do not offer combined pricing for flight and cruises. The fares shown on our websites are cruise only. If you wish to add a flight, they can be added in the latter stages of online booking, and prices will show accordingly.

Are service charges included in my cruise fare?

Some of our ‘standard’ Shore Experiences aren’t suitable for everybody due to their physical nature. However, some wheelchair users and guests with reduced mobility might feel confident they can join in certain experiences. We also offer a selection of accessible Shore Experiences which are specially designed for guests with reduced mobility.
‘Standard’ shore experiences
We give you an idea of the physicality and types of terrain you’ll encounter on each shore experience within its description. However, we don’t recommend particular ‘standard’ experiences for wheelchair users or guests with reduced mobility because we understand that everyone has different abilities.
If your mobility is limited but you’re able to board a coach, the most suitable ‘standard’ shore experiences for you will likely be those with the 'low' activity symbol. These are often titled 'Panoramic', e.g. Panoramic Rome.
Wheelchair and scooter users have the same options as all our other guests:

<li>Join a shore experience. However, we recommend that you consider the amount and type of movement involved, which is indicated in each shore experience’s description.</li>

Transport on ‘standard’ shore experiences
The mode of transport used for each experience is noted in the tour description on My Cunard.
The experiences we offer involve a variety of transportation types (e.g. coach, minibus, boat etc.) which vary in size and age from port to port. Each has different accessibility and storage facilities.
Generally, full-size coaches can accommodate a limited number of small, collapsible scooters or manual wheelchairs in the hold. Guests or their companions have the responsibility for collapsing wheelchairs/scooters and placing them on the coach. If this isn’t possible, the wheelchair/scooter would need to stay on the ship as there are no storage facilities at the quayside.
Where minibuses/trolley trains are used to operate shore experiences, the storage space is too small to accommodate wheelchairs or scooters.
Accessible shore experiences and vehicles
Due to health and safety reasons, mobility scooters can’t be used on our accessible shore experiences as they can’t be safely secured inside the vehicles. If you’re a full-time scooter user or if you’d like an alternative option, we can arrange private shore experiences. Please&nbsp;speak with the shore experiences&nbsp;team on board for more personalised/ bespoke arrangements.
You can take an electric wheelchair on some accessible shore experiences. However, weight requirements do vary by tour. This information is detailed in the 'Essential Information' section of each individual tour.&nbsp;It’s advisable, where possible, to take a manual wheelchair instead as they’re always suited to the accessible vehicles.
Please also note that legal requirements for wheelchairs and travel within vehicles differ by country. Please ensure you check the 'Essential Information' for each individual tour to understand what is specifically required before you book your experience.
Accessible shore experiences are charged to your on-board account. If you’re entitled to receive a loyalty discount, it will be applied.
If you use a wheelchair or scooter part-time, we recommend you join a ‘standard’ shore experience and store your wheelchair/scooter in the hold of the coach or vehicle (providing it collapses).
Wheelchair accessible minibuses are only available in a few ports and can only accept full-time manual wheelchair users for safety reasons.
All the accessible vehicles we use and tours that are arranged locally are sourced from reputable and competent operators. They’re fully insured, have safety management systems in place and comply with all prevailing local rules, regulations and standards. The health, safety and comfort of our guests is paramount. However please be mindful that local country standards may not reflect those at home.
Written commentary for deaf/hard of hearing guests

Are Shore Experiences accessible for people with disabilities?

Signature Packages are only available to guests aged 18 and over. However, if the second guest in a stateroom is a child (e.g. there’s one adult and one child travelling together), they will each be charged the Signature Package price. In this case, the child will get the Wi-Fi package and dining credit, and the alcoholic drinks package will be replaced with an Alcohol-Free Collection.&nbsp;
Children travelling as guests three or four in a stateroom won’t be charged, and they’ll automatically get an Alcohol-Free Collection package free of charge.&nbsp;

Are Signature Package prices the same for adults and children?

Yes, subject to availability. Cunard Signature Packages can be added at the time of booking: once you’ve selected your chosen voyage, you’ll see the option to add the Signature Package or Premium Signature Package during the booking journey. Alternatively you can add packages after you have booked your cruise by contacting Cunard, or your travel agent.

Are Signature Packages available on all cruises?

The waters of the Norwegian fjords are generally not very choppy, especially compared to open sea conditions. The fjords are typically sheltered by surrounding mountains, which help calm the water and create a more tranquil and serene cruising experience.
However, the sea can be a bit rougher in some areas, particularly if you are cruising outside the fjords or on the open ocean, like when crossing the Norwegian Sea. Within the fjords themselves, the water is usually quite calm, making it ideal for scenic cruises.
If you're prone to seasickness, it’s always a good idea to check the weather forecast and consider seasickness remedies, but overall, the Norwegian Fjords are known for their peaceful, picturesque waters.

Are the Norwegian fjords choppy?

Yes; some websites and categories of websites are blocked either due to their content or due to their consumption of large amounts of bandwidth. Websites that may be blocked: adult content, alcohol and tobacco, anonymisers, drug abuse, file sharing, malware, nudity, online gambling, streaming hacking, phishing, proxy avoidance and violent content.By using our Guest Wi-Fi, you agree to the terms of our acceptable use policy, which sets out the requirements and limitations of using our internet plans.&nbsp;Our Essential Plan does not include video streaming, so social media is limited to images and text only.

Are there any browsing limitations with the on board internet plans?

Our Shore Experiences are open to everyone travelling on the voyage, and we offer a full range of itineraries and activity types, for all levels. Some Shore Experiences may have restrictions, such as age or mobility, but this information will be included in the Shore Experience important information, on My Cunard.

Are there any limitations on who can join a Shore Experience?

Yes, to link bookings, all guests need to be booked on the same voyage and must be embarking and disembarking the ship on the same days.&nbsp;
Additionally, only the lead guest can request to link bookings.&nbsp;&nbsp;
If you want to dine with friends or family who are not embarking or disembarking on the same days as you, and you have both selected Assigned Dining, please speak to the restaurant manager on board and they will do their best to accommodate you.

Are there any requirements or conditions for linking bookings? 

Any restrictions would be on an experience-by-experience basis, and these can be found in the Shore Experience important information, on My Cunard.

Are there any restrictions for Shore Experiences?

Are there any top tips for using the Wi-Fi on board?

There are no Electric Vehicle charge points at the port. CPS, our parking provider, can offer trickle charging as part of their parking package on a first come first served basis.

Wet cleaning is a professional, aqueous cleaning process for sensitive and non-washable garments. The wet cleaning process was invented in 1991 by Kreussler &amp; Co GmbH in cooperation with Miele. Wet cleaning avoids the use of chemical solvents. Environmental groups and the United States Environmental Protection Agency have indicated that such alternative &quot;&quot;wet cleaning&quot;&quot; methods are better for the environment than chemical solvents and proponents of wet cleaning state that these methods can be used without shrinking or otherwise damaging garments that typically require dry cleaning.
We also offer slight alterations / repairs on board, for an added cost.&nbsp;

Are there laundry facilities on board?

Yes, The Captain's, Commodore and Cunard collections are available to purchase on all Queens.

Are Wine Collections available on all ships?

As pioneers of the World Voyage, we certainly think so! Exploring the world by ship is unlike any other mode of travel, giving you access to sights and wonders that flying or travelling by road cannot offer. Cruising also gives you the luxury of going to sleep only to wake up in your next destination; no connections or weary travelling required. If you travel on a Full World Voyage, you will be sailing roundtrip; with no flights, your luggage allowance is as large as you need it to be (as long as each item is below 23kg). And speaking of luggage, perhaps one of our favourite things about cruising is that you can see dozens of destinations and only unpack once for your entire voyage! Are your kennels subject to height or weight restrictions?

If you are entitled to internet credit, select and purchase your desired Wi-Fi package in My Cunard. Once you’re on board we will apply your internet credit an on board credit, for you to use as you wish.
Alternatively, you can purchase a Wi-Fi package during your voyage and any applicable credit will be applied during your time on board.
Can I combine pre-voyage promotions with this loyalty benefit?
Yes, if you purchase a Wi-Fi package in My Cunard during a promotional period, you will still receive any loyalty internet credit you are entitled to as on board credit during your voyage.
My travel companion and I both have internet credit. Can we merge our credit together to buy one plan?
This loyalty benefit is personal to each individual and not transferable or combinable. Each guest must select and purchase their own internet package to receive their full credit entitlement.
What happens if I don’t spend the internet credit before I disembark?
Internet credit is non-refundable and non-transferable.
If I buy a multi-device package, can multiple guests put their credit towards the total payment?
As multi-device packages are arranged per individual guest, only one guest’s total internet credit can be redeemed in this case.

As a Cunard World Club member, how do I redeem my internet credit if I pre-purchase a Wi-Fi package on My Cunard?

No. Beverages purchased through My Cunard can only be delivered to the guest's stateroom or suite.

Can beverages be delivered to another location on board?

When booking online, your total FCC balance will be applied against the cost of the new voyage you are booking online. If your FCC balance is greater than the cost of your chosen voyage, your remaining FCC balance will be retained for use towards the payment of another voyage.
You can also contact your travel advisor or our Customer Service Department to use your Future Cruise Credit as payment across multiple Cunard voyages.

Can FCCs be used against multiple bookings?

Mareel spa treatments, salon services and fitness classes are available to book online on My Cunard from 365 days before your cruise departs. Alternatively, you can contact the Mareel Spa Reception once on board to make a booking, either in person or via your stateroom telephone.

Can I add spa treatments to my wedding booking?

Each upgrade offer is considered individually. That means we can’t guarantee that all (or any) reservations traveling together will be upgraded. Even if all your group's reservations are upgraded, we can’t promise that the upgraded staterooms will be close together.

Can I apply for a stateroom upgrade if I’m part of a group or traveling with another reservation?

Can I arrive earlier than my arrival time?

For cruises that sail out of Southampton and fly back into the UK, or vice versa, a transfer is generally provided from the airport to the ship in Southampton, or vice versa. Cruise Connect have 50 collection and drop-off points throughout the UK which can be found on their website.
If you book your voyage with the Cunard Fare pricing, you may be able to select complimentary cruise transfers as your chosen Cunard Fare benefit. In some instances, complimentary coach transfers may be available. This will be notified to you at time of booking. If this is the case then you must ensure that you have made your coach transfer booking with the Cruise Connect at least 35 days prior to departure.
All coaches are equipped with reclining seats, are non-smoking and normally have a WC and washroom. In addition, comfort stop(s) are made en route. Coaches also have wheelchair access via a lift or ramp.

Can I book a coach transfer to and from a UK port?

We always recommend booking your Shore Experiences early, to avoid disappointment. However, if a Shore Experience is sold out, we would encourage you to explore the other options available in the wide range of Shore Experiences featured on My Cunard.

Can I book a Shore Experience that is ‘Sold Out’? Are waitlists available?

Yes you can. Solo travellers wishing to book a double stateroom can pay the relevant ‘sole occupancy’ supplement, which typically ranges from 175% to 200% of the per person fare (depending upon availability and/or stateroom grade). Please note that ‘sole occupancy’ is limited and subject to availability – and the percentage of the sole occupancy supplement may change without prior notification.
Alternatively, single staterooms (Britannia Inside and Oceanview) are available on board Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria, and Queen Elizabeth.&nbsp;

Can I book a standard (double occupancy) stateroom if I am travelling alone?

Yes. You’re free to bring water, soft drinks, and light snacks on board our ships. You may also bring one bottle of wine or Champagne per person to enjoy in your stateroom or suite.

You are welcome to bring water, soft drinks and light snacks on board, although we encourage you to take full advantage of our dining options. These include indulgent fine dining, hearty gastro fare, an informal buffet, and complimentary breakfast in bed.

Can I bring food with me on board?

We offer salon services for children over the age of 13 when accompanied by an adult over 18.The gym may be used by persons over 16 years old, provided they are accompanied by an adult over 18.

Once on board, if you wish to cancel your shore experiences before the cancellation deadline (generally 48 hours prior to the arrival in port), a 10% cancellation fee will be applied to your onboard account, and the full amount paid will be refunded to your original credit / debit card. Can I cancel my Shore Experience when I am on board the ship?

No: Signature Packages are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Can I cancel my Signature Package without cancelling my cruise?

You can review and cancel certain booked items in My Voyage. Select 'Voyage calendar’ from the My Voyage home page to see a summary of all of your bookings. If available, a ‘Cancel booking’ button will appear underneath a booking, which you can select.
If the option to cancel does not appear in My Voyage, you can request to cancel a booking at the relevant service desk on board. If you’re not sure who you need to speak to, our Reception team will be more than happy to help.
You cannot change a booking in My Voyage, but you may cancel a booking (where available) and then book again.

Can I cancel or amend something that I have already booked in My Voyage?

You can cancel or modify your upgrade offer up until the time the offer is accepted and your stateroom has been upgraded.
Once your offer has been accepted and your stateroom has been upgraded you are&nbsp;unable to cancel or modify your offer.

Can I cancel or modify my upgrade offer?

Yes, you can purchase multiple beverages.
