Sasha Howard, a retired hotelier living in North Wales, decided to undertake a BA honours degree in Art and Design at the University of Wales. Passing her degree with flying colours led to an exhibition of her work in the local art centre in Holyhead, Anglesey. Using Photoshop and PowerPoint, the illustrations depicting her poems and silly verse were accompanied by narration and transferred to a DVD. The images emulated the work of Monty Python and Salvador Dali.
Holding two City and Guilds Teaching Certificates and a Welsh Education Authority Watercolour Techniques certificate enabled Sasha to lead workshops at the Art Centre. These were attended by adults, families and children. Each class member illustrated their own stories through mixed media (pastel, pencil and watercolour) and turned final pieces into comic presentations
Sasha’s fun and well attended classes inspired her to further her teaching skills by holding watercolour sessions at the Boathouse Hotel Holyhead as part of an entertainment programme.
Sasha is currently tutoring, developing art lessons and producing pictures for friends and family.
