Bill Wichrowski

Film, television and radio
American television personality

The American television personality “Captain” Bill Wichorwski is best known for his appearances on the hit Discovery Channel show, Deadliest Catch. But long before he rose to become one of the most fascinating fishermen on the show, Bill grew up in Pennsylvania. After graduating from Norwin High School, Bill entered the Navy in the mid 1970’s. His experiences in the Navy drew him to the Bering Sea, where he spent twenty years in the king-crab fishing industry.

In the mid 2000’s, Wichorwski left Alaska for Costa Rica to run a company specializing in fishing tours. But when the Discovery Channel came to him with an offer to star in their new series, Deadliest Catch, Captain Bill returned to the Bering Sea to resume work as a crab fisherman. Now in the show’s sixth season, Deadliest Catch features not only Captain Bill Wichorwski but also his son, Zack Larson, as part of the cast. The father/son relationship has become a central part of the show’s human interest storylines.

When not crab-fishing and filming for Deadliest Catch, Bill Wichrowski lives most of the off-season in San Carlos, Mexico, with his wife. Captain Bill enjoys sports fishing and horseback riding, and he is an avid supporter of the Wounded Warriors
