Travel along the scenic northern coastline to Cape Peloro, where Sicily lies just a short distance from mainland Italy. Back in Messina, pause at the Cristo Re Terrace for stunning views over the city and the Strait of Messina. Continue to the magnificent Cathedral of Messina, home to the world’s largest astronomical clock and a fascinating history of reconstruction following earthquakes and war. Your tour concludes with an orientation drive through the city, passing landmarks including Piazza Cairoli, Via Garibaldi, the Church of the Catalans, the Statue of Neptune and the seafront Viale Libertà, before returning to your ship.
