Discover Cunard news
This extraordinary global showcase unveils never-before-seen images from Cunard’s archives, alongside guest photographs, capturing the glamour and prestige of ocean travel through the years. From Hollywood icons and royalty, including Elizabeth Taylor, Rita Hayworth, Bing Crosby and Queen Elizabeth II, to personal milestones and voyages of discovery, the exhibition will tell the story of Cunard’s remarkable legacy, spanning from the first Transatlantic Crossing in 1840 to today.
Guests worldwide have contributed treasured moments, from families emigrating to new continents to milestone celebrations on board Cunard’s legendary ships, creating a powerful visual history of life at sea. Thank you to everyone who has submitted an image and shared their story over the last few months. Submissions have now closed.
The Sea of Glamour Exhibition debuted at The Royal Liver Building in Liverpool in May. Elements of the exhibition are now touring the world on board our fleet, allowing guests to view a selection of the 184 images chosen by Mary McCartney in the 'Voyage Gallery' and hear the stories behind them in the short film 'Portholes to the Past.
To mark Cunard’s official birthday on 4 July, and to say thank you to everyone who joined us in sharing their stories with us for Sea of Glamour, we are pleased to share the final 185th image: a beautiful mosaic, featuring at least one image from every guest who made a submission.
Our Sea of Glamour exhibition is one of the many ways we are marking 185 illustrious years of Cunard. To see the other ways we are celebrating our rich history, including a special Event Voyage on board Queen Mary 2, please read our 185th Anniversary article.
