Hong Kong International Airport is located on the island of Chek Lap Kok, which is connected to Kowloon mainland via bridges and tunnels. It’s possible to get to the mainland using public transport such as a local ferry, bus, or the MTR (Mass Transit Railway), or you can book a taxi or transfer to the cruise terminal. 

The cruise terminal, Kai Tak, is located on Kowloon mainland. It takes about 40 minutes by car, a little longer by bus, or one hour and 40 minutes by MTR to travel between the two. In the summer months, Hong Kong can reach highs of around 32 degrees Celsius, so thin layers, dresses, or shorts and t-shirts are appropriate, although nothing too revealing. The winters in Hong Kong are usually fairly mild, sitting at around 15 degrees Celsius, so no need to bring winter woollies.

Tsim Sha Tsui is the main hub of Kowloon, and it’s from here that you cross Victoria Harbour to arrive onto Hong Kong island itself.

The first cruise terminal in Hong Kong is Ocean Cruise Terminal (sometimes known as Hong Kong cruise terminal), which has a central location to the city. The terminal itself doesn't have very many facilities, but it is built over a mall, which has ATMs, an information desk, shops, restaurants and much more. Ferries are also within walking distance.
The second cruise terminal in Hong Kong is Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, located in the world-famous Victoria Harbour. Kai Tak Cruise Terminal includes several useful facilities, including a currency exchange desk, tourism information, lockers for storing luggage, shops and restaurants, and even a rooftop park. Hong Kong has a wide range of transport to get you around the city, including taxis, buses, MRT (local underground rail), and train. Many of these use a contactless system, for which you need to download the &quot;Octopus app for tourist&quot;, but most also accept card and mobile payments. Taxis are the exception, which usually require cash in local currency (Hong Kong dollars).
Ocean terminal is near to several ferries, and also an MTR station, East Tsim Sha Tsui, providing good connections around the city.
Kai Tak terminal is further out from the city centre, but sits on several bus routes, from which you can reach railway and MTR stations. Taxis are not very common here, but you can use them to reach the airport if you can get one. There is also a ferry terminal nearby, which you can use to cross the harbour. The terminal often offers a free shuttle service to Diamond Hill/Kwum Tong MTR station too.

Hong Kong International Airport is 42 km (25 miles) from Kai Tak cruise terminal, taking around 35 minutes by taxi and around 45 by bus. From Ocean terminal it takes around 30 minutes by taxi or bus, and around an hour by MTR, a distance of just over 33 km (nearly 21 miles).

Future Cruise Credit (FCC) that can be applied as a payment can be used on your upgrade. When you make your upgrade offer, you can request that your payment be made with your FCC.

Can I use an FCC to cover the cost of my upgrade?

All upgrades are based on two guests sharing a stateroom.&nbsp;&nbsp;
If you are travelling solo you will pay 200% of the offer you make.&nbsp;
If there are more than two people in your stateroom only the first two guests will pay for the upgrade.

How do I apply for a stateroom upgrade if I am sailing solo or with a larger group?

Yes, any amount you upgrade offer for an upgrade is in addition to the cost of your original booking.

Is my upgrade offer in addition to what I’ve already paid for my voyage?

The amount is per guest for the entire duration of the voyage. Upgrade offers are based on two guests per stateroom.

Is the amount of the upgrade offer per person per day or for the whole voyage?

Yes, if you have already booked an accessible/wheelchair stateroom we will only upgrade you if an accessible stateroom is available at your chosen higher stateroom grade.

I’ve booked an accessible/wheelchair stateroom, will the upgraded stateroom still be accessible?

You will receive an email approximately 6 days before your sail date to let you know that your upgrade offer was unsuccessful. You won’t be charged any additional amount, and you’ll stay in the stateroom you originally booked.

What happens if my upgrade offer is not accepted?

The Cunard Upgrade programme gives you the opportunity to upgrade to a higher-grade stateroom at a price you are willing to pay. Once all upgrade offers have been considered and assigned, complimentary upgrades will be reviewed and guests who have booked a Cunard Fare will be given first priority for these.

What is the difference between the Cunard Upgrade programme and the complimentary upgrade I opted into at the time of booking?

Payment must be received within 72 hours of your upgrade offer being accepted, you will receive an email confirming your offer has been accepted and a booking confirmation showing your outstanding balance. In exceptional circumstances, we may accept an upgrade within 7 days and in these instances, we will require immediate payment.

When do I pay for my upgrade?

Your upgrade offer can be accepted anytime from the moment it is submitted.
We will endeavour to tell guests at least 7 days prior to the cruise departure if they have been successful. However, in exceptional circumstances, we reserve the right to upgrade guests up until 1 day prior to departure.
We will automatically allocate you an upgraded stateroom if your upgrade offer is&nbsp;accepted.
