Maureen started her long career with Cunard as an Assistant Purser and later Social Hostess. Taking a break from sea life, Maureen worked as a Personal Assistant in the Foreign Office in London, and British Embassies in Addis Ababa and Paris, later rejoining Cunard as a Social Hostess on QE2, Cunard Countess, Cunard Princess and Queen Mary 2.
Maureen sailed on the final voyage of QE2 as a passenger and was invited to speak on the final day at sea, making her QE2's last ever guest speaker.
