    LA DISCOVERY

    Visit the city’s principal sights on a panoramic drive, see the Music Center, Disney Concert Hall and Hollywood’s Chinese Theatre.

    Your first stop is at the Music Center, designed by Walton Becket. The complex is filled with beautiful sculptures and water displays, and houses the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, the Ahmanson Theatre, and the Mark Taper Forum. Enjoy a panoramic drive along Olvera Street, the oldest section of Los Angeles, where the city was founded in 1719.

    Next stop is Hollywood and Highland, and the Kodak Theatre, the new home of the Oscars. Eat, drink and be discovered, or look for your favourite star’s footprint at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. Actress Norma Talmadge launched the tradition in 1927, by accidentally stepping into wet cement while the Theatre was under construction.

    Enjoy some free time at the Farmers’ Market in the Fairfax district to shop for souvenirs and gifts, before heading to the glitz and glamour of Beverly Hills. Catch a glimpse of the famed Rodeo Drive with its exquisite and exclusive boutiques, before returning to the ship.

    Note: Comfortable, flat, walking shoes are recommended. There is approximately 1½ hours of walking overall on the tour on mostly flat surfaces. There are steps to negotiate when entering the Music Center.

    There are so many areas of the park to choose from including Tomorrow Land, New Orleans Square, Critter County and Micky’s Toontown you’re bound to have a memorable day.

    Note: Entrance to Disneyland is not included and costs $87 for adults and $81 for children under 10, this amount is to be paid at the gate (entrance fee may vary). Transfer time is approximately 1 hour each way. Luncheon is not included, various food outlets are on site at the studio for you to purchase a light snack. Attractions will be seen on foot so guests with walking difficulties should take this into consideration.     Hooray for Hollywood - enjoy the glitz and glamour, as you explore Beverly Hills, Sunset Strip and the ‘City of Angels’.

    Beautiful Beverly Hills, where the city’s rich and famous live and shop. Enjoy some free time to stroll down Rodeo Drive, here you’ll see some of America’s most exquisite and expensive boutiques, Gucci, Armani & Ralph Lauren are just a few of the many designer labels found here. Continuing along the Sunset Strip, passing oversize billboards and trendy restaurants you’ll arrive in Hollywood.

    Make sure you have a camera, as free time will be given to explorer the Hollywood and Highland Complex which includes the Kodak Theatre, were the Academy Awards are hosted. From the four story archway you can view the famous Hollywood sign, on a clear day. Onto the Walk of Fame and historic Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, were many famous stars handprints are displayed in the forecourt.

    Passing Hollwood Bowl your next stop is at Universal City Walk, enjoy entertainment like nowhere else, one-of-a-kind shops and numerous restaurants where you will have time to enjoy luncheon on your own.

    Sit back and relax as you head downtown to Los Angeles, passing the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angeles, Olvera Street (the birthplace of LA) and Chinatown. Your next stop is at the Music Center, the complex includes the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, the Ahmanson Theater and the Mark Taper Forum.

    Your final visit of the day is to the Farmer’s Market in the Fairfax district, enjoy a little retail therapy before returning to the ship.

You will pass through downtown LA and the trendy bohemian Echo Park neighbourhoods on your way to Hollywood. Along the way, make sure you look for the iconic Hollywood sign. Arriving at the foot of the ‘red carpet’ in front of the Kodak Theater, have your camera at the ready as you star gaze on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.

    During your visit to the residential areas of Beverly Hills, your guide will provide the latest Hollywood gossip, as you drive past over 40 breathtaking mansions. Share the feeling that there is no place like home for stars such as Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lopez, Tom Cruise, Christina Aguilera and David and Victoria Beckham to name but a few.

    As you drive by Sunset Strip, look out for such infamous locales as The Whiskey A Go Go, Johnny Depp's notorious Viper Room, The House of Blues, the trendy Sky Bar, Chateau Marmont and The Beverly Hills Hotel. You’ll drive along the world famous Rodeo Drive to see the stores where the rich and famous shop, including Bijan, Gucci, Prada and the Beverly Wilshire Hotel featured in ‘Pretty Woman’.
