  • Balmoral Island Getaway

    Escape to Balmoral Island, a tropical oasis with crystal clear waters and a powder white sandy beach.

    Balmoral Island is the perfect place for relaxing on the beach. You’ll join your boat at the pier for a 45 minute transfer ride across to the island, where you’ll have around three hours to spend at your own leisure.

    Upon arrival, you can head to the beach and relax on a sunchair in true Bahamian style, or perhaps take a refreshing dip in the nearby fresh water pool. Whilst luncheon and refreshments are not included on this tour, you’ll have the option to purchase these during your stay. There is plenty to choose from with several bars each offering a different mood and an indoor food venue offering a variety of outlets.

    At the end of your stay, you’ll meet at the designated time and place for the return boat transfer.

    BEACH/WATER RELATED EXCURSIONS
    For any excursion involving water, guests are reminded to exercise particular care. Alcohol and eating a full meal should be avoided before swimming. If buoyancy aids are provided for an activity they must be worn at all times. You should bear in mind that the sea is unpredictable. Lifeguards are unlikely to be present and there may not be a flag system to indicate whether or not it is safe to go in the water. In addition, beach activities may not be supervised or accompanied and so you should take care to satisfy yourself as to the safety of the beach and/or the sea at the time of your excursion. Please exercise caution when entering the sea as the seabed and aquatic environment is capable of springing surprises and we have not inspected the beach or seabed for its safety. Children must be supervised by you at all times near water. All activities on the beach, water and in the sea are undertaken at your own risk. You’ll need to take swimwear, a towel, sunscreen and flat shoes that can be worn in the water.

    LIABILITY
    Cunard will arrange for the excursions to be performed by the relevant excursion provider. Cunard does not provide or supply the excursion services. Cunard will exercise reasonable care and skill in the selection of the excursion provider, but will not in any circumstances have a greater liability than the excursion supplier and Cunard shall not be responsible for the negligent acts/omissions of the excursion supplier. Please note that in relation to all excursions Cunard is not responsible or liable for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by you unless such loss, damage or injury arises out of a breach of legal duty of Cunard.

    TRAVEL INSURANCE
    Before booking any activity excursions it is essential that you ensure your travel insurance extends to cover the specified activity. It is your responsibility to obtain adequate insurance.

    Children under the age of five may not participate. The level of walking is at guests’ discretion. There is a short walk along the pier to join the boat and a degree of agility is required to board. Please remember US Dollars for purchases, swimwear, a towel and sunscreen. Sunchairs are included; however umbrellas are on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be guaranteed. The island may become busy on a multi-ship day. Please note the meeting time and place for the return transfer as the boat cannot be held for latecomers. There are Dolphin and Stingray activities on the island which are not included. Limited poolside cabana’s and non-motorised water toys are available for hire, subject to availability, and payable locally. There may be independent suppliers on the beach that offer water activities these are provided by parties unconnected to Cunard.

    Discover Nassau & Beach

    Embark on a panoramic drive of Nassau and the surrounding area, capturing its beauty, history and heritage.

    Your drive will take you through the countryside, passing by small local villages. Look out for the beautifully preserved architecture that encapsulates the Bahamian history.

    Afterwards, you will stop off at a local beach, where you will have the opportunity to relax on a sun chair or take a refreshing swim.

    Following your free time on the beach, enjoy a scenic return drive to the pier.

    This excursion will operate by minibus and on foot. This tour involves limited walking, however depending on the ship’s berth there may be a 15 minute walk, each way, to the minibus departure point. Flat, comfortable shoes are recommended. The beach is a public beach and may become busy. Umbrellas are not available. The scenic drive is around one hour with no stops. The time spent on the beach is around 1½ hours. Guests are reminded to wear swimwear, take a towel and sunscreen. US Dollars are accepted for purchases. There may be independent suppliers on the beach that offer watersports, these are provided by parties unconnected to Cunard.

  • Catamaran & Snorkel

    Enjoy a leisurely cruise from Nassau Harbour and snorkel the crystal clear waters of the Bahamas.

    Catamaran & Snorkel

    Step aboard your catamaran at the pier and sit back and relax as you set off along the lovely coastline. Admire the surrounding scenery and views as you glide through the clear Bahamian waters.

    You’ll soon arrive at a snorkelling spot and your captain will drop anchor ready for you to don your snorkel gear and take to the water. The waters of the Bahamas are home to a variety of fish and marine life, so keep a look out as you explore the underwater world. For those who prefer, perhaps just cool off with a refreshing dip or simply relax on board and soak up the sun.

    Back on board, it’s time to relax once more as you head back to Nassau Harbour. During your tour you’ll be offered soft drink refreshments, and rum punch will also be available on the return cruise.

    ACTIVITY EXCURSIONS
    You and all those in your party should be aware that, in undertaking activity excursions, you will be involved in a degree of physical exertion and/or activity such as hiking, biking, snorkelling, kayaking, diving etc. By booking the excursion you confirm that you and all those in your party are in good physical and mental condition, with no history of conditions such as seizures, dizziness, fainting, heart condition, respiratory problems or back/neck problems (by way of example only). You should also ensure that no one in your party is taking medicine that carries a warning about impairment of physical or mental abilities. If you are pregnant this type of excursion may not be appropriate for you. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are fit and well enough to take part in the activities booked and you are reminded to take care for your own safety. Because of the risks associated with activity excursions, you may be asked by the excursion provider to sign a document which may affect or limit the excursion provider’s liability. Comfortable flat walking shoes are recommended.

    This excursion will operate by catamaran. There is a ten minute walk along the pier to reach the catamaran. Children under seven may not participate. Snorkel equipment is included. Guests will be required to enter the water directly via a ladder and participants must be competent swimmers. Please remember your swimwear, sunscreen and a towel. Marine life sightings are dependent on local conditions on the day and cannot be guaranteed.
