This excursion is sure to appeal to anyone curious about the natural world. Your adventure begins with a shuttle to the dock gate, where a 4x4 vehicle will be waiting for you. From here, you’ll travel along Walvis Lagoon (an important wetland) and past the salt mines to Pelican Point. Depending on what wildlife is around on the day - this area is home to flamingos, pelicans, cormorants and a great variety of other wildlife.Upon arrival at Pelican Point, you’ll be allocated a kayak ready for taking to the water. This location is home to around 50,000 Cape fur seals all year round. Friendly and playful, with visible ears unlike their ‘true seal’ counterparts, they are often referred to as the ‘dogs of the ocean’. You’ll find they are not scared of your kayaks, even when you paddle right next to them, so they may well come within touching distance. You’ll have around two hours on the water, before enjoying a light refreshment ashore, and returning to your ship.
