A thought-provoking tour that provides a valuable insight into the impact of World War II on Rabaul, captured by the Japanese in 1942. Visit a Japanese tunnel system, used to shelter from the Allied air forces, and learn how they turned Rabaul into a powerful military base. Travel to a local village and experience a traditional Tolai dance, before visiting the Kokopo War Museum with its vast collection of WWII artifacts. You’ll then travel to the Bita Paka War Museum and War Cemetery, the poignant final resting place of those who lost their lives during the Pacific campaign.
