After a panoramic drive of Nagasaki, visit the Peace Memorial Park built to commemorate the atomic bomb explosion of 1945, and see the Peace Statue funded by donations from all over the world. Located near the Peace Park, the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum features many photographs and relics of the atomic bomb, while the Atomic Bomb Hypocentre nearby marks the centre of the atomic blast which levelled the city.

Visit the Dejima Museum of History – originally an artificial island. The Dutch outpost of Dejima was Japan's only contact with the western world for over 200 years. After a Japanese-style luncheon, discover the Glover Garden, located in Nagasaki's old foreign settlement and home to a number of historic buildings. Chief amongst them is the 1863 Glover House, the oldest example of western wooden architecture in Japan. Tour the gardens and the historical buildings, some of which are furnished in period décor, while others display 19th century photographs of Nagasaki. Following your visit, enjoy a leisurely stroll back to the ship.
