Mountain of Fire

If you only see one thing in Lanzarote, make it Fire Mountain at Timanfaya National Park.
Driving through the lunar-like landscape of dark, barren lava cinders topped by brooding ochre and violet volcano cones, it truly is an otherworldly experience. Fire Mountain was born from a spectacular volcanic eruption over 280 years ago. Your guide will perform some fascinating experiments to demonstrate the heat and violent forces beneath the earth’s crust, proving that the volcano is certainly not extinct, but only dormant.
The vineyards that dot the island’s landscape are filled with the vines, protected by semi-circular stonewalls, which look more like art than agriculture. You’ll visit a ‘bodega’ to try the local wines and stop at an interesting Aloe Vera Farm
