Gain an insight into the impact that WWII had on Kristiansand during a visit to Stiftelsen Arkivet and the Kristiansand Cannon Museum. Stiftelsen Arkivet was a notorious former Goestapo headquarters known as the ‘House of Horror.’ The Kristiansand Cannon Museum (The Vara Battery) features displays of WWII artillery and uniforms, with the main attraction being a large battery cannon built by the Germans to defend the coastline during WWII. It is the only complete surviving 380mm calibre Kruppcannon, almost 66 foot long, weighing 337 tonnes and with a firing range of 34 miles.
