Rub shoulders with the residents of the small fishing village of Sudureyri and sample their local delights.

Embark on a wonderful visit to Sudureyri, where you can meet the locals on a personal level. They’ll be happy to answer your questions, and offer you the opportunity to sample their local produce. Do try the dried haddock, and the Ceviche from the ‘fisherman cooking school’.

Sudureyri is principally a base for speed-boat fishermen. Sailing swiftly out to sea and back, they’ll return with fresh high-quality catches that are on sale in Europe just 36 hours.

The village is also the only one in the locality that uses geothermal hot water to heat all their buildings, as well as their outdoor swimming pool, whilst a hydroelectric power station provides their electricity.

You’ll have some free time to stroll around the pretty village before returning to your ship.
