A staggering 1,900 species of our feathered friends call this lush, green land home.Your tour begins with a comfortable, air conditioned, scenic bus ride to nation�s newest tourism area, the pristine island of Baru, Cartagena. After just over an hour, you�ll arrive at Colombia�s National Aviary � one of the finest and most respected in the world, for its sheer diversity of species.The Aviary is divided into habitat sections� tropical, coastline and mangroves, desert and Andean mountains. You�ll be able to photograph a breathtaking array of birds, including Macaws, Harpy Eagles, Tangaras, cormorants, pelicans, herons, storks, owls and even the mighty Andean Condor.You�ll be surrounded by abundant woodland, waterfalls and swaying palm trees.Later, you�ll have some free time to browse for souvenirs and sip some refreshing local beverages or delicious Colombian coffee, followed by a photo-stop at San Felipe Fort (an impressive hilltop fort built by the Spanish in the 1600s).After some sightseeing in the old city of Cartagena, you�ll return to your ship.
