Step aboard your coach and get ready for a full-day adventure that begins at the Seiryu-ji Temple, home of Japan’s largest seated Buddha. Then, you’ll head to Mt Hakkoda, the name of a range of dormant volcanoes that lie south of Aomori. Once you arrive, you’ll climb into a cable car and soar over 4,000 feet to the summit station for magnificent views. Next, you’ll visit the mesmerizing Sannai-Maruyama. Recognized as a Special National Historical Site, its Japan’s largest and one of the most complete Jomon villages. After a Western-style lunch, visit the Nebuta House ‘Wa Rasse’, which opened in January 2011. You’ll see five award-winning floats from the previous festival before returning to Aomori with a deeper appreciation of this magical land.
