Drive through dramatic scenery, past a charming mountain tarn (lake) and see the hand-built salmon ladders leading to the beautiful Lake Leynar before visiting three traditional villages of the Faroe Islands: Leynar, Kvívík and Kollafjørður.
Leynar is a quaint village set amidst some of the Faroes most splendid scenery. During your stop capture photographs and time permitting take a wander down to the small beach.
Kvívík is one of the oldest settlements in the Faroes and the site of an ancient Viking settlement. In the middle of the village you’ll be able to see the remnants of a 10th century stone Viking farmhouse and barn.
Kollafjørður is a small village located in an inlet on the east coast. Visit the Faroese Parish Church, built in 1837, which is central to this small community. This unusual black wooden building has a unique turf roof, complete with daisies.
Your scenic journey back to Tórshavn takes you through tunnels and along a stunning fjord.
