Venture out into the charming, peaceful countryside that envelops Stavanger.

Sit back and soak up the gorgeous scenery on a leisurely coach ride along the Dirdal River. At Byrkjedalstunet you’ll find a refurbished former cheese factory from 1920 that houses a restaurant and candle-maker’s workshop. Here you can watch the colourful candle workshop in action and browse the gift shop for handicrafts, woollens, and of course, beautiful candles. Then enjoy coffee, tea, and traditional 'lapper' (thick pancakes) with jam and sour cream.

In Gloppedalsuren you’ll see Norway's largest boulder field, with some as big as houses. Travelling through the flat, fertile farming area of Jæren and past the golden beaches at Sola, you’ll return to Stavanger to see the city sights.
