Driving around the city, you’ll stop to see the Little Mermaid, before visiting the Royal Palace Amalienborg. Surrounded by four identical palaces, the Palace Square is considered one of the most beautiful in Europe. Then drive past the citadel and the Gefion Fountain, which depicts the goddess Gefion creating the island of Zealand.

You’ll also see Nyhavn, a fashionable city haunt for drinks and dining. Its tightly-packed colourful buildings are the perfect backdrop for the wooden ships lining the canal.

Then enjoy a guided tour of Rosenborg Castle. It’s the perfect example of classic Danish Renaissance-style, with its tall towers, red masonry, and sandstone ornaments. You’ll also have an opportunity to see the royal treasures.

Heading back to the ship you’ll pass Christiansborg Castle, home to the Danish Parliament and the Royal Reception Rooms.
