After a scenic coach ride, you’ll arrive in the port of Mazarrón in the heart of Murcia’s Costa Cálida, on the shores of the glistening Mediterranean Sea.
The Bay of Mazarrón is overlooked by the foothills of the Sierra de la Almenara. Over 35 km of beaches, unspoiled coves and rocky sea beds make this area ideal for relaxing in the sun, enjoying water sports and sampling the local gastronomy.
Hopping aboard the trolley train, you’ll cruise by the beautiful bay and see some of the best loved sights in the area, which is known for its rich artistic heritage. The weird rock formations are sure to pique your curiosity! This eerie landscape is dotted with mesmerising sandstone ‘monuments’ which have been sculpted by the wind, rain and sea over the course of millions of years. Be sure to have your camera at the ready.
Exploring the Archaeological Museum and Roman Salting Factory, you’ll learn about the processes used in the 4th and 5th centuries to preserve seafood and the importance of fishing to Roman industry.
After finishing your tour of the museum, you’ll have some free time to enjoy Mazarrón before your coach departs for your ship.
