Montserrat by Rail
USD60 per person
Visit the 1,000-year-old Monastery tucked away in the beautifully rugged Montserrat mountain range.
The famous Monastery, founded as a Benedictine Abbey in the 11th century, sits in a spectacular setting – perched on a ledge 2,400 feet above the River Llobregat and nestled at the foot of eroded mountain crags resembling jagged, skyward-soaring teeth. It is simply breath taking. It’s also home to the 12th century Black Virgin of Montserrat, one of the Black Madonnas of Europe.
The final ascent to the Monastery is via an incredibly scenic rack-railway ride. Once you reach the top, you’ll have free time to explore independently
