After an engaging video about Tlingit customs and history, enter the Beaver Clan House where tribal members will perform traditional songs and dances, and you’re encouraged to join in! Your guide will lead you among over 20 awe-inspiring Tlingit and Haida totem poles, before you visit the Village Carving Center for a demonstration of their time-honoured skills in action. The Village Store provides an opportunity to purchase some of the native art available or pick up a memento of your visit.
Your scenic ride back to the ship takes you past Alaska's busiest waterfront, bustling with floatplanes and boats; infamous Creek Street, Ketchikan's former red-light district during the Gold Rush; and historic residential areas and the turn-of-the-century style downtown area.
