Leaving the city behind, you’ll drive through the stunning Danish countryside to Hillerød and the magnificent Renaissance Frederiksborg Castle. Situated on three tiny islands, this early 17th century castle is surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens and a small lake.
As you stroll through the courtyard, you’ll be welcomed by the spectacular Neptune Fountain, which is sure to make a lasting impression. Once inside, you’ll make your way through the magnificent halls on a journey covering 500 years of Danish history and illustrated with historical paintings, portraits, and period furniture.
Afterwards you’ll visit one of the most famous sites in literary history, Kronborg Castle, more commonly known as ‘Hamlet’s Castle’. After strolling around the imposing ramparts, you can indulge in coffee and pastries in the castle’s former stables.
