The WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Level 1 Award in Spirits is an exciting course suited to beginners, offering a hands-on introduction to the world of spirits.

You’ll explore the main styles and types of spirits through sight, smell and taste to develop an understanding of the key factors affecting flavours and aromas. The course is carried out in a fun and relaxed atmosphere in a unique setting, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions. There are no pre-requisites to take this course: anyone of drinking age can take part in the journey.

Course Overview.

  • 3-day course inclusive of revision day and multiple-choice examination.
  • The length of each module is approximately 120 minutes depending on questions.
  • The price includes all study material, examination fees, certificates, champagne reception, and a four-course lunch with wine in The Verandah restaurant, on the last day of the course.
  • You will also be provided with a WSET study guide for you to make notes on and take home.
  • Examination on the last day with 30 multiple choice questions with a 45-minute time limit. A mark of 70% is required to pass.
  • Certification – all guests who pass will be issued with a certificate suitable for framing and a lapel pin.
