  • Pearl Harbour & Honolulu

    A memorable visit to Pearl Harbour and the chance to enjoy the spectacular views of this beautiful Hawaiian island.

    Depart from the pier to Pearl Harbour, the home of the United State's Navy Pacific Fleet. A Navy shuttle boat will take you to the Arizona Memorial, a moving tribute to those who lost their lives during the attack on December 7, 1941. You will enjoy a narrative about this national shrine, short documentary film, and explore many fascinating exhibits at the Visitors Centre.

    Beyond the city you will drive through the Punchbowl National Cemetery. Set in an extinct volcano, this cemetery honours America's fallen heroes from WWI, WWII, and the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

    Afterwards, you’ll continue on a guided drive of Honolulu’s Highlights including the downtown district, the Kawaiahao Church, the City Hall, the State Capitol, the Governor’s Mansion and Iolani Palace, the former residence of Hawaii’s last two monarchs. You will also have the opportunity to take in the stunning views of Oahu’s lush green windward coast from the Pali Lookout situated on the rugged slopes of the Koolau Mountains.


    This excursion will operate by coach, launch and on foot. Expect long queues and crowds at the memorial centre. Due to increased security NO bags of any form (including camera bags and handbags) are allowed within the Visitors’ Centre or Memorial. Appropriate dress is required no swimwear or bare feet. In the event of inclement weather conditions the shuttles to the Arizona Memorial may not operate, however passengers will be able to view the exhibits at the visitors centre and take the city tour.

  • Diamond Head Crater Trek

    Trek to the summit of one of the most famous craters on Earth, affording you incredible 360 degree views of Waikiki.

    Diamond Head Crater Trek

    This exciting, fun and educational tour of the world-famous Diamond Head Crater, begins with a short introductory talk by a trained naturalist. During the talk, you’ll learn all about this fascinating volcanic creation, Hawaiian history, European discovery, origin of the famous name, and modern day military use of the 'Gibraltar of the Pacific'.

    You’ll be escorted on a 45 minute walk that ascends to the 763 foot summit. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to stop at several vantage points to rest and capture the magnificent crater on camera. Walking up stairways, entering a dark 200 foot tunnel and climbing a spiral staircase, will awaken all your sense of adventure.

    Once you reach the summit, you’ll be met by incredible 360 degree panoramic views of Waikiki Beach, the emerald green mountains and the sparkling aquamarine water of the Pacific Ocean below. Afterwards, you’ll be slowly escorted back down to the crater floor.

    The excursion lasts approximately three hours and is a truly memorable experience. Before leaving, you’ll be presented with a Certificate of Achievement, stating that you successfully made it to the famous summit of Diamond Head Crater!

    You and all those in your party should be aware that, in undertaking activity excursions, you will be involved in a degree of physical exertion and/or activity such as hiking, biking, snorkelling, kayaking, diving etc. By booking the excursion you confirm that you and all those in your party are in good physical and mental condition, with no history of conditions such as seizures, dizziness, fainting, heart condition, respiratory problems or back/neck problems (by way of example only). You should also ensure that no one in your party is taking medicine that carries a warning about impairment of physical or mental abilities. If you are pregnant this type of excursion may not be appropriate for you. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are fit and well enough to take part in the activities booked and you are reminded to take care for your own safety. Because of the risks associated with activity excursions, you may be asked by the excursion provider to sign a document which may affect or limit the excursion provider’s liability. Comfortable flat walking shoes are recommended.

    TRAVEL INSURANCE
    Before booking any activity excursions it is essential that you ensure your travel insurance extends to cover the specified activity. It is your responsibility to obtain adequate insurance.

    This excursion will operates by minibus and on foot. Children under 8 cannot participate. Trail length is approximately a 1½ mile round trip. Participants have to walk comfortably uphill on uneven, but maintained, trails to an elevation change of 561 feet. There are two steep concrete stairways of 74 steps and 99 steps separated by a passage through a light 225 foot long narrow tunnel and exit to the exterior of the crater is through a narrow passageway. Please wear comfortable walking shoes (tennis shoes). The trail is not shaded, please wear sun protection, hats and bring additional water.

    Enjoy an introduction to one of Oahu’s most visited districts combined with views of some of the island’s dramatic scenery.

    Drive through the bustling city of Honolulu to Diamond Head Crater. Standing directly in the middle of this now extinct volcanic crater, your guide will explain the history of this famous landmark. From this natural wonder you’ll travel through Oahu’s southern coast, to Hanauma Bay, this incredibly beautiful spot provides magnificent photo opportunities.

    Continuing along the beautiful coastline, you’ll pause at the famous Halona Point Blow Hole. If the tide is right, you will see an impressive waterspout show.

    Enjoy the splendid Makapu’u Lookout as your guide describes the fascinating volcanic origin of this area, home to many bird and plant species. Notice the dramatic change in the island’s topography as you continue towards the scenic windward coast. A stop will be made at a Hawaiian archaeological site and former war temple.

    Before your return to Honolulu, a grand finale awaits. The final stop of this spectacular day will be at the Pali Lookout, located high in the Koolau Mountains; the views from here are simply awe inspiring. Take a moment to enjoy the sights and absorb the very special atmosphere of this magical island.

    Take a scenic drive over the most expensive freeway ever built, H3, to the island’s windward side, to the Valley of the Temples and location of the stunning Byodo Temple. Lying at the base of 2,000 foot lush green cliffs, this beautiful Buddhist temple is a replica of the 900 year old Byodo-In located in Uji, Japan. The valley sits against a back-drop of tall cliffs and is landscaped with traditional lush Japanese gardens and Koi ponds. Inside the temple you’ll find the largest wooden Buddha carved over 900 years ago and decorated with gold and lacquer.

    Travel North along scenic shores past Chinaman’s Hat and Kahana Bay to Kahuku, home of the North Shore Shrimp Farms. You’ll stop at one of the locals favorite shrimp trucks for some delicious locally farmed Garlic Shrimp, Fish or Chicken and Hawaiian style shaved ice.

    After lunch a short drive will bring you to beautiful Sunset Beach, which is famous for towering surf during the winter months and the location of many International surf contests. Next, drive by picturesque Waimea Valley and one of the world’s finest big wave surfing beaches.

    Continue on to Haleiwa Beach Park, one of many surf breaks on the North Shore which make up a strip of what many surfers call 'the seven mile miracle'. Then drive through historical Haleiwa Town, past extensive views of Hawaii’s last pineapple fields en route to the Dole Pineapple Plantation. After a brief stop at the plantation, you will return directly to the cruise ship pier.

    This exciting tour is led by a trained naturalist who will provide interesting and fun information about Hawaii’s birds, plants, geology, geography, history, marine biology and oceanography throughout your adventure.

Traveling through the historic valley that offers visitors excellent photographic opportunities, you will learn about the fascinating local history and mythology.

    Continue to Pu'u Uala'kaa the ‘hill of the rolling sweet potatoes’, located 1,048 feet above Waikiki. From this lofty vantage point, where Elvis Presley had a picnic lunch in the movie Blue Hawaii, you will experience a breath-taking 180 degree panoramic view of Oahu’s scenic southeast coastline and sometimes a glistening double rainbow arching across the Valley of the Rainbows far below.

    Departing the pier, you’ll take a short drive to Pearl Harbour, the site of the United States' entrance into World War II. Here, you’ll have approximately 2 hours of free time, to explore the Visitors Centre, and see the 2 expansive Exhibit Halls, where you will see rare footage of the attack on Pearl Harbour as well as many interactive displays and memorabilia of this historic day.

    At a time specified by your driver, you’ll meet at the coach park, where your return drive will take you through the Punchbowl National Cemetery of the Pacific and show you some of the highlights of Honolulu city, including the only palace on American soil.


    This excursion will operate by coach and on foot. Tickets for the Arizona Memorial tour are not included. We recommend that upon arrival you should first proceed to the ticket office to see if Memorial ticket times are available during the time of your visit.     On arrival at the Pearl Harbour Visitor centre you’ll enter the “Road to War” exhibit gallery and learn about the people and events that led up to the attack on Pearl Harbour. At the “Attack” exhibit gallery, you’ll see a Japanese B5N2 torpedo bomber and hear recorded stories from some of the survivors.

    You’ll be given free time to tour the grounds of the Pearl harbour visitor centre independently, and includes the contemplation and remembrance circles and the USS Arizona’s Anchor.

    Leaving Pearl Harbour, continue to downtown Honolulu and its authentic Chinatown district. You’ll journey past the Kawaiahao Church, the impressive King Kamehameha Statue, Honolulu City Hall, the Hawaii State Capitol, the Governor’s Mansion and the quaint homes of the early missionaries.

    Your day ends with a drive through Punchbowl Crater and the Punchbowl National Cemetery. Beyond and above the city you will make a stop at the Pali Lookout high in the Koolau mountain range for spectacular views of the windward side of Oahu.

  • USS Arizona Memorial and Mighty Mo

    Visit the Arizona Memorial, the USS Missouri and see where General MacArthur stood when Japanese officials gave him the ‘Articles of Surrender’.

    Departing the pier, you’ll take a short journey by air conditioned motorcoach to historic Pearl Harbour. Upon arrival, you’ll tour the Visitor’s Centre to view a short film of the infamous bombing on December 7, 1941.

    Next, you’ll embark on a Navy launch to the USS Arizona Memorial, a floating memorial commemorating the crewmen killed during the surprise attack. Visit the USS Missouri Memorial, an 887-foot-long battleship that is a living museum. Discover the details of the kamikaze attack on the Missouri; stand in the shadows of the 16-inch guns that pummelled Inchon; and stand on the ‘Signature Deck’ where General Douglas MacArthur stood when Japanese officials signed and presented him with the ‘Articles of Surrender’ that ended World War II.

    Have your cameras at the ready to photograph the USS Bowfin, a restored WWII fleet submarine, nicknamed the ‘Pearl Harbor Avenger’. And browse the memorial shops for gifts and souvenirs of your poignant and educational tour.


    This excursion will operate by coach, boat and on foot. Expect long queues and crowds when visiting the USS Arizona Memorial. The wait to view both the film at the Visitor Centre and then to board the naval launch to the memorial can take approximately 1¾ hours. U.S. Navy rules prohibit all bags larger than the size of a hand-held radio being transported in any vehicle to USS Missouri. Guests will have the opportunity to store these items for a fee at an area near the USS Bowfin before re-boarding the bus to visit ‘Mighty Mo’. Cameras without carrying case, prescription medication and bottled water are permitted. Swim suits and tank tops are not permitted at the Arizona Memorial.

    Sit back and enjoy the lush surroundings of the Nuuanu Valley, as you head to the Nuuanu Pali Lookout, where a short stop will be made for you to admire the spectacular views. It was here that one of the most important battles in Hawaiian history took place and where Kamehameha I conquered the island of Oahu, bringing it under his rule.

    Just a short drive away is the location of Hawaii's sacred Royal Mausoleum, Mauna Ala, the final resting place of 2 of Hawaii’s prominent royal families, Lamehameha and Kalakaua. Admire the gothic architecture of the Mausoleum and take time to absorb the peace and tranquillity.

    The royal history journey would not be complete without a visit to the Hawaiian Mission Houses Historic Site and Archives, to understand the role that the Christian Missionaries played in shaping the islands. The site was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1965. Here, you’ll visit three restored houses, two of which are the oldest houses in Hawaii. You’ll also learn about the research archives, which provide a unique glimpse into 19th century Hawaii.

    It’s then onto the glorious Iolani Palace, the only official state residence of royalty in the United States and the official residence of the Hawaiian Kingdom's last two monarchs. The Palace has been lovingly restored over the years and an audio guided tour will bring its history alive. During your visit, you’ll also see the legendary King Kamehameha's statue and the unique Kawaiahao Church, often referred to the Westminster Abbey of Hawaii.

    Your culinary adventure begins as soon as you board your vehicle. As you make your way around the island, your knowledgeable guide will provide a fascinating narration about Hawaii’s agriculture, birdlife, plant species, geology, history and culture.

    Your first stop - the Waialua Sugar Mill, was once part of an extensive sugar plantation that operated between 1865 and 1996. The mill now houses a number of speciality shops, including Waialua Coffee and Chocolate. After a brief tour you’ll be able to sample and purchase some Hawaiian coffee.

    Next, you’ll travel through the town of Haleiwa, renowned as one of the world’s best surfing spots. Have your camera ready for a photograph stop at Shark’s Cove, a lava-rock beach famous for its spectacular underwater rock formations.

    Continue on to Kahuka Farms and Country Café for a delicious luncheon, made with fresh farm produce. Afterwards, join your guide for a walk around the sprawling grounds.

    Following this, you’ll visit Manoa Chocolate factory. The resident “Chocolate Flavourmeister” will show you how chocolate is made from the beans by carefully crushing, winnowing, and conching this delicate cacao into a rich smooth chocolate reminiscent of the South Pacific.

    Your final stop will take you to the famous Pali Lookout in the rugged Ko'olau Mountains. Soak up the breathtaking views and snap that perfect shot.

They leave Alaska waters and migrate over 3,000 miles in less than two months, then stay for a lengthy vacation, frolicking off the Hawaiian shores and entertaining spectators from December through to April. This enticing morning whale-watching excursion offers you the chance to take part in this one-of-a-kind nature attraction.

    With its sleek design and engineering, Navatek can actually cruise past Diamond Head or other areas in search of Humpback Whales. Outdoor viewing decks and large windows in the air-conditioned cabins provide for wonderful sighting opportunities and views. The expert naturalist on board will share insightful information and educational commentary on the whales behaviour and biology.

    This excursion is operated by catamaran. This tour is not exclusive to Cunard. It is a ten minute escorted walk to the Navatek Pier. This tour is not suitable for those who suffer with seasickness. It is recommended that all guests should take seasickness tablets with them as a precaution. This tour is dependent on weather conditions. Whale sightings are not guaranteed. Due to the nature of this tour, it is recommended that guests who are pregnant do not participate.
