Departing from your ship, you’ll board your coach and leave the city via the Westgate Bridge that offers wide views across Melbourne and Port Phillip Bay. Head across the broad grasslands of the Great Western Plains towards Serendip Sanctuary.

The 618-acre exclusive open-range Sanctuary is set against the backdrop of the You Yangs Range and is an excellent example of the open grassy woodlands and wetlands of the volcanic Western Plains. An experienced naturalist guide will lead you on a walk through the savannah grasslands and bush around billabongs (waterways) in the company of wild kangaroos, emus and many species of birds. Enjoy a refreshment of tea or coffee during your visit to the Sanctuary.

Following a short drive from Serendip, you’ll venture into the You Yang Ranges National Park to walk among the gum trees and search for koalas in their natural eucalyptus forest. Here, you'll visit a wild koala study area where research is being carried out into the behaviour of these beautiful, charismatic marsupials. On short, easy strolls your guide will share with you the habits and habitats of Australia's gentle wildlife in the unique Australian bush.

During your tour, you’ll receive a Koala conservation book "Koala Clancy of the You Yangs", and a donation will be made to the Koala Clancy Foundation.

This excursion will operate by coach and on foot. There is approximately ½ mile of walking in total on this tour. Wildlife sightings are likely but cannot be 100% guaranteed. It will not be possible to touch or hold the animals and smoking is not allowed.
