Board your coach for a short transfer to the Hong Kong Ferry Terminal and join the jetfoil for a fast crossing to the ‘Las Vegas’ of the East – Macau. Macau is a stunning new metropolis where UNESCO sites are nestled amongst sparkling new casinos.

Discover the history of this former Portuguese trading post as you visit some of the most significant sites in Macau’s history. St Paul’s Cathedral was built in the early 17th Century by an Italian Jesuit. Only the facade remains of this exquisite cathedral after the interior was ravaged by fire during a typhoon in 1835.The Museum of Macau is a must, it charts Macau’s history from its colonial heyday to the present day with a vast collection of cultural and historic art and memorabilia. Enjoy some free time at St Pauls and the Museum to browse amongst the local vendors and gift shop for souvenirs.

Jump back to the 21st Century with a trip to the Macau Tower. This 1,109 foot tower features glass elevators and an observation deck which delivers a breathtaking 360 degree view of Macau and beyond. A delicious buffet luncheon will be served in the Tower Revolving Restaurant on the 60th floor where you can take in the stunning views as you dine.

Finally visit A-Ma Temple, built in the 15th Century by Chinese fishermen as a shrine to the goddess A-Ma this is considered to be Macau’s oldest temple. The temple consists primarily of four halls which sit in perfect harmony with the natural environment. Sit back and relax as you leave the glittering city of Macau behind and join your return jetfoil transfer back to Hong Kong.

This excursion will operate by jetfoil, coach and on foot. There is approximately two hours of walking on this excursion. Entrance to the observation deck is not included. Guests will be required to take passports on this tour.

A walk through the streets of Fort Cochin is an ideal way to discover this historic town, brimming with tales of seafaring traders, who made Cochin the first European township in India.

You’ll transfer by coach to Fort Cochin and walk along the old colonial, tree-lined avenues. A visit will be made to one of India’s oldest churches, St Francis Church, before continuing past Princess Street and Loafers Corner. One of the earliest streets in Fort Cochin, this area still retains its old world charm with European style quarters. View the gothic exterior of the Santa Cruz Basilica, a Roman Catholic Cathedral, which is a place of devotion as well as a centre of historic significance. Short photograph stops will be made at the Chinese fishing nets, one of the area’s famous landmarks, and Dhobi Ghat, an open air laundry.

Continue on your trail to the Dutch Cemetery, an interesting and quiet site, to see the history of the many Europeans who came here on a mission to expand their colonial empire. You’ll see many examples of Indo-European architecture as you pass by private colonial homes.

This excursion will operate by coach and on foot. This tour involves approximately two hours of walking over mostly paved ground. Comfortable, non-slip walking shoes, sunscreen and a sunhat are recommended. Two bottles of water will be provided for the walk.

Begin your tour with a visit to Mahatma Gandhi’s former Mumbai residence, Mani Bhavan. The building has been maintained as a memorial to Gandhi and contains a vast amount of fascinating material, including a model exhibit detailing major events in his life, photographs, books and letters he wrote to Hitler. You will see his simple room containing the spinning wheel he used to spin yarn, and make the traditional Indian cloth, which he used for clothing.

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (formerly named the Prince of Wales Museum) was built to commemorate the visit of the Prince of Wales. The building is primarily built in the indo-saracenic style of architecture but also incorporates elements of other styles such as Mughal, Maratha and Jain. The museum houses around 50,000 exhibits of ancient Indian history as well as objects from overseas which are categorized into three main sections: art, archaeology and natural history.

Enjoy a brief photograph stop at the Gateway of India, before stopping for free time on Colaba Causeway. Colaba has a range of shops, restaurants and market stalls selling souvenirs, leather goods, shoes, jewellery, handicrafts and clothing. There is plenty to tempt you whether you prefer the air-conditioned comfort of the larger shops or bartering with the locals on the stalls.

This excursion will operate by coach and on foot. : There will be approximately one hours of free time in Colaba. Mani Bhavan has two floors with a total of 40 steep steps. Approximately 45 minutes is spent at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya. There is a fee of (INR125) to photograph or video in the museum. Professional photography is not permitted. Comfortable footwear, water and a sun hat are recommended.
