    This simple transfer will take you into the heart of the city where you’ll have around five hours to explore at leisure. You’ll be provided with a map of the city to help you along the way, and a voucher that can be redeemed at a local café.

    During your visit, you may choose to visit King's Park, which occupies 1,000 acres along the Swan River. This beautiful parkland features a combination of cultivated botanical gardens and wild, native bush that is home to a variety of native plants and species of birds. Perhaps take a Treetop Walk, which will have you looking down on majestic, towering trees. The city is full of leafy shopping malls and you’ll find designer boutiques, department and speciality stores; you’ll be spoilt for choice!

    At the end of your visit, you’ll meet at the designated meeting time and place for the return drive to Fremantle.

    This excursion will operate by coach and on foot. The transfer is unguided and does not include luncheon, entrance fees or costs for activities. The journey is around 45 minutes each way. Please take careful note of the departure pick-up time and point as coaches cannot be held for latecomers. Local currency and credit or debit cards are accepted for purchases. The voucher can only be redeemed in the café specified on the voucher. It will entitle guests to a drink and a cake, or a sandwich up to the value of AUD 15.

    A relaxed and leisurely way to see the sites of Perth and Fremantle from both land and sea.

    Twin Cities & River Cruise

    Setting off from the pier, your panoramic city drive will take you past some of the city’s exclusive suburbs. You’ll also capture the Perth skyline, nestled right on the Swan River. As you continue through the city view the highlights and admire the mix of modern and old world architecture. A brief photograph stop will be made at Kings Park that affords lovely views across the city and river.

    Afterwards, join your riverboat for a leisurely cruise along the pristine water of Swan River’s meandering waterway. Sit back, relax and enjoy refreshments as you listen to a live commentary and enjoy the lovely views as you glide past.



    This excursion will operate by coach and boat. There is a distance of approximately 200 yards to walk over flat ground to board the river cruise. The toilets are situated down a flight of steps. The river cruise lasts approximately 1¼ hours and is not wheelchair accessible. There are some gravel paths at Kings Park, however walking is at guests’ own discretion. Casual clothing and flat, comfortable footwear with non-slip soles are recommended. Order of sights may vary.

  • Leisurely Fremantle & Perth

    This leisurely drive is an excellent way to discover the old charm of Fremantle and the vibrant, cosmopolitan city of Perth.

    The streets of Fremantle are lined with quaint terraced houses, historic buildings, and sidewalk cafés. Your driver-guide will take you on a panoramic drive through this historic city and highlight the key sights including the distinctive Western Australian Maritime Museum, the UNESCO Fremantle Prison and the 12-sided Round House. The Round House, originally a jail, is the oldest building in Western Australia.

    Your drive will continue to Perth, a city with splendid views from every angle. Soaring skyscrapers form an impressive wall along the Swan River’s northern shore. In the distance, the Darling Ranges rise from the coastal plains offering a superb natural backdrop. You’ll travel through exclusive suburbs and pass the Royal Perth Yacht Club, Matilda Bay and the Old Swan Brewery.

    Before returning to the ship, a photo stop will be made at Kings Park. The Park consists of bushland, botanical gardens and parklands. Enjoy some free time to admire the gardens and absorb the views over Swan River and the city of Perth.

    This excursion will operate by coach. This tour is operated by commentary driver-guides. Most of the sightseeing is conducted from the comfort of your coach. There are some gravel paths at Kings Park, however walking is at guests’ own discretion. Guests are advised to carry a bottle of water for the journey. Order of sights may vary.

    Experience the different sights, sounds and ambience of charming Fremantle on this interesting and informative walking tour.

    Fremantle Walking Tour

    Join your guide for a leisurely walk around the diverse city of Fremantle. You will see many of the city’s important buildings including the Round House, Western Australia’s oldest public building, the Fremantle Markets building and the Victorian Town Hall with its landmark clock tower.

    As you stroll along the High Street, you will feel as though you have stepped back in time to the 1900s, as the Victorian houses that were built here 100 years ago have been preserved and well maintained. In contrast, the port’s old commercial centre on Cliff Street are lined with Colonial buildings.

    As you walk along Fremantle Harbour, you will see the C.Y. O’Connor Statue, this bronze sculpture pays tribute to the Chief Engineer for Western Australia, who created the harbour by blasting and dredging rock and sand at the river mouth. Amble along the Esplanade, the city’s major parkland and pass by the modern venue of the Maritime Museum before returning to the ship.


    This excursion will operate on foot. There is approximately 2½ hours’ walking over even, paved footpaths. Flat, comfortable enclosed shoes and bottled water are recommended. The tour will operate in all weather. For those who wish to explore the city further, there is the option to end the tour by the Maritime Museum, however you are responsible for making your own way back to the ship.

    A comprehensive tour that combines sightseeing of Perth and Fremantle with wine tasting, luncheon and a river cruise.

    Essence of Western Australia

    Admire the sleek, modern buildings and soaring skyscrapers as you drive through Perth. There will be a brief stop at Kings Park to photograph the spectacular view overlooking the city and Swan River.

    Travelling through the eastern suburbs you will arrive at Swan Valley, a heritage area renowned for its historic houses and superb wineries. Visit one of these wineries for some wine tasting. You will be able to enjoy a talk on the wine making process along with the tasting, which will feature locally produced red and white blends.

    An Australian luncheon will be served at a local restaurant before returning to Perth.

    In Perth, you’ll board your riverboat for a leisurely cruise down the Swan River to Fremantle. Watch the passing scenery glide by as you enjoy refreshments of tea or coffee and listen to the live commentary.

    Re-board your coach for a brief orientation of Fremantle. As you travel along the Esplanade see the quaint terraced houses, ornate historic buildings and sidewalk cafés. Drive past the old Round House at Arthur’s Head, an old twelve-sided jail, and the Maritime Museum, a grand cluster of stone buildings, before returning to the ship.

    Drive out of the city limits to the wonderful Swan Valley, famous for its history and wineries.

    Board your coach and traverse Perth’s sleek suburbs to the lush Swan Valley, renowned for its historic houses and award winning wineries. Stop at the Cellar door of a local winery to enjoy a wine tasting of the Estate’s vintages. See the wonderful views stretching off into the distance including row after row of vines.

    After your wine tasting experience, you will drive to Caversham Wildlife Park, which offers a complete bush experience. You will have approximately 1½ hours’ free time to meander around the Park enjoying the different range of wildlife native to Australia such as emus, kookaburras, dingos and crocodiles. You could also take a walk through the kangaroo enclosure, to meet and perhaps feed the friendly kangaroos and wallabies, or get up close and have your photograph taken with one of the cuddly koalas. Look out for the daily show, which will introduce you to the wombat and a variety of other friendly Australian animals.

  • Shoalwater Bay Wildlife Encounter

    Step aboard a glass-bottom boat in search of the sea lions and dolphins of Shoalwater Bay and visit the Penguin Discovery Centre.

    Located south of Fremantle is Rockingham, Perth’s marine playground and often referred to as the place 'where the coast comes alive'.

    Upon arrival into Rockingham, you’ll take a short ferry ride across to Penguin Island. Here, you’ll step aboard a glass-bottom boat and set off for a 45 minute boat ride through the Shoalwater Bay wildlife sanctuary zone. During your boat ride, keep a look out for the dolphins and the Australian sea lions that have made this their home. Sea birds are in abundance and you may be lucky enough to spot pelicans and cormorants, to name but a few.

    After your glass-bottom boat ride and back on dry land at Penguin Island, there will be some free time for you to visit the Penguin Discovery Centre. The centre provides an insight into the island’s native residents, the ‘Little Penguin’, and it also forms part of a breeding programme to release orphan penguins back into the wild.

    To round off your tour, the ferry will take you back across to Rockingham, where you’ll head to a local eatery to enjoy a casual luncheon, before the return drive to Fremantle.

    This excursion will operate by coach, boat and on foot. The drive to Rockingham is around one hour each way. It is advisable to take a bottle of water and sunscreen. This tour involves limited walking, however guests must have a degree of agility to board the boat. There is a short flat walk from the coach drop off point to the ferry, and to the restaurant. Walking at Penguin Island is at the discretion of the guest. Flat, comfortable shoes are recommended. This tour is weather dependent. Wildlife sightings cannot always be guaranteed. The ferry and glass-bottom boat may not be exclusive to Cunard.
