    Old Split Walking Tour

Split is now a busy port, however the old town has retained its former charm. Built around the spectacular Roman Palace, erected by the Roman Emperor Diocletian in the 4th century, a walking tour in this area is a must.

  • Sights & Sounds of Split Riviera

Combine a walking tour of Trogir and a visit to Pantan Old Mill for refreshments, as well as time in Split.

Sights & Sounds of Split Riviera

Your scenic drive heads into the town of Trogir, situated on a small island squeezed in between the mainland and the larger island of Ciovo. This tiny island is connected to the mainland by a bridge. The entire island, except the parks, is laid out with spectacular constructions in stone, which include palaces, churches, monasteries, towers and walls. The streets are narrow and they truly give a feel of how life might have been like in the old days.

During the walking tour, view Town Loggia, the Town Hall and the Cipiko Palace, but the main attraction will be a visit to The Cathedral of St Lawrence. This 13th century building is probably the finest example of sacral architecture in Croatia. The unusual construction with three naves and three semi-circular apses dominates the whole town.

Depart Trogir towards Pantan Old Mill to enjoy some wine and specialties including smoked ham, cheese and olives whilst being entertained by singers with local Dalmatian songs.

Round off your excursion with a walking tour of Split Old Town, built on and around the spectacular Roman Palace erected by the Roman Emperor Diocletian in the 4th century. Highlights include Golden Gate, Silver Gate and Peristyle Square.

This excursion will operate by coach and on foot. There is approximately two and a half hours of walking on this tour over mostly paved ground. The short, pedestrianised road to the Old Mill is gravel.
