    A short stop at Europa Point will allow you to capture the fine views of the coast of North Africa, 12 miles across from the famous Straits of Gibraltar. From here, you will appreciate why this territory was, and continues to be, of such strategic importance to the British Navy.

    Travel north across the border passing the Catalan Bay and savour the spectacular views across Spain and the Costa Del Sol.

    The restaurant “La Guitarra” is located in La Linea de la Concepcion. This city has a population of around 60,000 residents and is located in the south of the Iberian Peninsula of Andalucia.

    Here you will see the prestigious Flamenco dancer, “Lola Ponce. Apart from running an academy in the town where she teaches more than 100 girls a day, she has her own remarkable dance group “Cuadro Flamenco”. This group has delighted those who have had the opportunity to enjoy their indisputable art and grace is demonstrated in the many places they have performed.

    Depart from your ship and journey north across Gibraltar's unique runway to the border between this small colony and Spain. As you drive by, you will have the opportunity to view this remarkable border and the Spanish mainland beyond.

    Continue along the outskirts of the town, passing the American War Memorial and the Trafalgar Cemetery to Europa Point. From this vantage point you can admire views of the coast of North Africa, 12 miles across the famous Straits of Gibraltar. As you enjoy this view you will appreciate why this territory was and continues to be of such strategic importance to the British Navy.

    Retrace your steps towards the Garrison Library; this magnificent colonial building was founded in Gibraltar in 1793 by Captain Bethune Drinkwater and was officially opened in 1804. The Library has served as the Headquarters for the Gibraltar Chronicle, the World’s 2nd oldest English Language Newspaper. The Library was established for the officers of the Garrison of Gibraltar. It has remained a private entity run by a trust for over 200 years.

    In September 2011, the library was transferred to the Gibraltar Government, and on occasion opens to the General Public. You’ll have the opportunity to visit the Library, a brilliant source of information, accompanied by a specialised guide.

    Before heading back we will stop at one of Gibraltar’s finest hotels the O’ Callaghan Elliot Hotel for refreshments.

    Travel across the border to Spain and visit a traditional cork and cattle farm before sampling some local tapas.

    Leaving the pier you’ll take a 20 minute scenic drive around the Bay of Gibraltar to the edge of a natural Cork Forest. En route you’ll have a brief photo stop allowing you dramatic views of the “Rock” framed by the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.

    Tucked away in the forest, you‘ll visit a typical Andalucian farmhouse dating from 1797 with a patio and traditional old barns. This building is part of a family-run cork and cattle farm.

    Your guide will show you how the cork bark is harvested from the oak trees, a centuries-old method to create the perfect cork bottle-stopper. Andalucia produces half of the world´s cork and this area boasts a special high quality cork sold to the international wine trade market. Whilst you are at the farm, you’ll have the opportunity to view the deep red local Retinto breed of cattle, one of Spain's purest breeds, and sample some local tapas.

    Setting off from the port, you’ll take a short minibus drive to the Spanish border. Once across, you’ll step aboard a coach and head towards the town of Castellar de la Frontera. Standing on a rocky promontory, the town is surrounded by the walls of a well preserved Moorish fortress and has been declared an historical monument.

    Upon arrival, you’ll make your way to the Hotel Castellar where you’ll take your seats to enjoy a typical Andalusian performance. Sit back and enjoy the sounds of the guitar complemented by a traditional flamenco dancer. Your evening includes a delicious selection of tapas such as Serrano ham, Spanish omelette, gazpacho and other tasty offerings, accompanied by a glass of Sangria, a beer or a soft drink.

    As your evening draws to an end, you’ll rejoin your coach for the drive back to Gibraltar.

    This is your opportunity to seek out these fascinating creatures - an experience not to be missed.

    Dolphin Watch

    Dolphin watching not only gives you the opportunity to get out into the fresh air on a boat trip in the Bay, but the thrill of seeing dolphins swimming playfully alongside the boat and leaping in the waves is unforgettable.

    Your experienced captain and crew will point out the different species of dolphin found in these waters - the Common Dolphin, Striped Dolphin and Bottle-nosed. These mammals breed in the sheltered waters, which are rich in food, and young dolphins can often be seen - always a great attraction.

    Sailing back towards the Rock, your captain will point out key landmarks and give you some interesting snippets about Gibraltar.

    Afterwards, a coach will be waiting to take you back to the ship. Time permitting, you may opt to walk into town (550 yards away). In this case you will be responsible for making your own way back to the ship.

    What better way to discover the Rock's fascinating attractions than with a guide, who will bring the stories of Gibraltar to life.

    As you rise up towards the Top of the Rock Station aboard the cable car, enjoy views of the town, across to Africa and over to Spain. Walk from the Top of the Rock down to St Michael's Cave with your guide, who will point out views and places of interest along the way. Marvel at the amazing stalactites and stalagmites in the Cave.

    Think of Gibraltar and the apes come to mind. The Rock's most popular tourist attraction, these tail-less apes roam about freely, much to the delight of photographers. (Please note they are wild animals, and are not to be touched or fed however friendly they may seem).

    Take a guided walk of approximately 45 minutes through the unique system of the Great Siege Tunnels, carved through solid limestone. Excavated during the Great Siege of 1779-83, they allowed the mounting of gun emplacements along the north face of the rock towards enemy positions.


    This excursion will operate by mini-coach, cable-car and on foot. Guests are advised that there is a lot of walking involved in this tour over uneven ground and steep gradients within the Tunnels. Sturdy, non-slip shoes are recommended. Please expect queues at the cable car.

  • The Rock Revealed

    See the main highlights and enjoy some time for independent shopping or a cable car ride.

    The Rock Revealed

    See Gibraltar's oldest and most famous residents, the apes, at close quarters. The semi-wild apes roam freely around the slopes at this viewpoint and you can usually get some great photographs. Please remember the apes are wild animals, do not be tempted to touch or feed them and please watch your belongings as they have been known to take things.

    St. Michael's Cave is a large natural cavern filled with uniquely formed stalactites and stalagmites. It is said that this bottomless cave is linked to Africa by a fifteen mile long passage under the straits.

    Located on the southern tip of Gibraltar at Europa Point, Trinity Lighthouse is still in use and its light can be seen from a distance of thirty miles.

    At the end of your tour, you can either be dropped off at Main Street for shopping, or at the Cable Car Station, where you can take a ride independently to the Top of the Rock (cable car payable direct). Alternatively, you will be taken directly back to the ship.


    This excursion will operate by mini-coach and on foot. There are approximately 75 steps at St. Michael's Cave, however guests can remain on the mini-coach during this visit. Comfortable non-slip shoes are recommended as some areas of the Cave can be slippery. Lighting in the cave is dim and coloured for effect. Guests who choose to be dropped off for shopping or the cable car are responsible for making their own way back to the ship by taxi or on foot. Some of the roads up to the Rock can be winding and narrow.

    Stroll around the beautiful Alameda Gardens before capturing some fantastic views of the Rock on an exciting cable car ride.

    Delight in the wonderful collection of plants at Alameda Gardens. The Gardens are an important conservation project and house a collection of plants from around the world as well as displays of local flora. Join your guide who will point out the various plants, sights and wildlife whilst guiding you through its fascinating history.

    Gibraltar's cable car is the island's only purpose-built tourist attraction. Enjoy a ride up to the very top of the Rock and marvel at the breath-taking views. At the cable car's top station take advantage of the restaurant and bar as well as cloakroom facilities. You are free to wander independently around the many terraces and enjoy the splendid views of the city of Gibraltar to the West, the coastline of Africa to the South, the Spanish mainland to the North and the blue waters of the Mediterranean to the East.

    After your tour a shuttle service will take you straight back to the ship or you may prefer to be dropped off in the Irish Town pedestrian area to explore the many shops. Alternatively, relax in a pub or café, before making your own way back to the ship.


    This excursion will operate by mini-bus, cable car and on foot. Ground at the Gardens is generally paved with steps and some steep gradients. Please expect queues at the cable car. There are around 35 steps to negotiate to reach the view point from the cable car drop off point. Guests are reminded that Gibraltar’s apes may be encountered on this excursion and should not be touched or fed as they may bite. If you choose not to take advantage of the local shops a shuttle service will take you back to the ship.

    Follow in the footsteps of the world leaders of WWII on this guided walk through the intricate network of tunnels in the Rock.

    Enjoy the views of the most Southerly point in Europe, site of the Trinity Lighthouse.

    Step back in time to the year of 1940 when Britain was at war with Germany and Italy and the future of Gibraltar looked bleak. A decision was taken by Winston Churchill and the British Military leaders to construct a massive network of tunnels. Experience these World War II Tunnels as your guide takes you on a journey through this amazing fortress. Visit the areas that housed the hospital, power station, military headquarters and accommodation for nearly 10,000 troops and civilians.

    On a clear day, the views of Spain are spectacular from Jock's Balcony lookout point. You will have free time to enjoy the display of photographic images, depicting life as it was in the 1940's.


    This excursion will operate by mini-coach and on foot. At the Fortress, a health and safety briefing will be given and hard-hats will be provided. Guests are advised that there is a steep incline to be negotiated upon exiting the Tunnels. We recommend flat, non slip shoes are worn. Guests have the option to either be dropped off at Main Street or taken back to the ship. Guests dropped off for shopping will be responsible for making their own way back to the ship.
