  • Corfu Resort Getaway

Venture to the north of the island and enjoy free time at two popular seaside resorts.

    Corfu Resort Getaway

Corfu is much more lush and verdant than most Greek islands and this will become apparent as you drive to the north of the island. Your narrated drive through the lush Corfiot countryside will open new sides to this beautiful and idyllic island.

On the northern shores of Corfu is Kalamaki Beach, the large sandy beach is ideal for families due to the shallow waters and good facilities. Enjoy nearly 2 hours free time to relax in the sun or splash around in the crystal clear waters.

Nestled on Corfu’s north-eastern tip and built around a small and beautiful bay, Kassiopi is a stunning village resort. It is full of bars, cafeterias, tavernas and a striking seafront that is complemented by a small beach. Approximately two hours of free time will be given for you to discover this island gem.

  • In the Footsteps of the Durrells

Follow in the footsteps of the Durrells, who lived on Corfu from 1935 to 1939, as recreated in the recent ITV series.

In the Footsteps of the Durrells

Explore the former haunts of the Durrell family, as you discover the more peaceful side of Corfu.

Sit back, relax and enjoy a scenic drive, as you head south along the coast to Perama and the ‘strawberry-pink villa’ where the family first moved to. Over the years the villa has been redeveloped and no longer resembles that described in the Durrell books. Its Victorian-style garden and fuchsia hedges have been replaced by concrete walls and a terrace with a swimming pool. However, admire the same natural beauty and views that the Durrells experienced.

Then it’s on to Kontokali Bay where the family then to moved, to a large Venetian-style villa. Sitting on the hillside overlooking the bay, this villa and its grounds remain almost unchanged. Standing 4 stories high and resplendent in its surroundings, the villa so closely mirrors the descriptions Gerald gives in the various stories set there. One can almost imagine Theo or Donald and Max, clopping their way to the front door in their horse-drawn carriages, or Spiro honking his way up in his ancient Dodge. The wooden jetty used by the Durrells is gone, but islands off-shore still form an ‘enchanted’ area of crystal-clear waters and natural beauty. Next, you’ll drive to Kalami, where the famous Nobel-awarded British writer Lawrence Durrell loved to bathe. At Kalami village, have your camera ready for a photo stop at the famous "White House" the former residence of Lawrence Durrell, which nowadays operates as a taverna and hotel.

This excursion operates by minibus and on foot. The maximum group size will be no more than 16 guests per guide. The tour include approximately one hour of walking in total, on flat terrain.
