    Journey to the highest point on the island, the magnificent Haleakala Crater. At 10,032 feet above sea level, this incredible crater could accommodate Manhattan Island with room to spare while stacking the Empire State Building four times without reaching the top!

    As you wind your way up the banks of the mighty Haleakala you’ll stop at the Rangers Station. At 10,000 feet you are almost at the summit and the perfect place to get some fabulous photographs. Reaching Haleakala National Park the panoramic views from the summit are spectacular. Last erupting in 1790, the astonishing crater of this dormant volcano measures 7½ miles long, 2½ miles wide, 21 miles in diameter and 3,000 feet deep, covering 19 square miles. From your viewpoint you'll appreciate firsthand the unique beauty of this colossal crater.

    After working up an appetite, what better way to unwind than by enjoying luncheon at the Maui Tropical Plantation.

    This excursion will operate by coach. Please bring a warm jumper/jacket as temperatures can drop dramatically at the summit. Due to climatic changes views may be obscured at any time and cannot be guaranteed. Comfortable shoes are recommended, as there is approximately 45 minutes walking over paved surfaces and some rough ground.

    Leaving the port behind your guided drive up the mountain will take you through Maui's diverse scenery. Reaching Haleakala National Park the panoramic views from the summit are spectacular.     This excursion will operate by coach. A warm jumper/jacket and comfortable shoes are recommended. Although there will only be approximately 20 minutes’ walking, this will be over uneven surfaces. Guests with mobility problems should take this into consideration.

    Enjoy a little relaxation at Ka’Anapali Beach, renowned for being one of the best beaches on Maui.

    Sit back and take in the stunning scenery as you drive along the coastline to Maui’s luxurious beach resort.

    Waiting for you at the beach is a complimentary beach chair and a tropical beverage. Relax in the sun and enjoy the distant views of the islands of Lana’i and Moloka’i, swim or beach-comb along the 3 mile stretch of golden sands.

    If you feel like something a little more active, it is possible to rent beach toys and snorkeling equipment on the beach.

    BEACH/WATER RELATED EXCURSIONS
    For any excursion involving water, guests are reminded to exercise particular care. Alcohol and eating a full meal should be avoided before swimming. If buoyancy aids are provided for an activity they must be worn at all times. You should bear in mind that the sea is unpredictable. Lifeguards are unlikely to be present and there may not be a flag system to indicate whether or not it is safe to go in the water. In addition, beach activities may not be supervised or accompanied and so you should take care to satisfy yourself as to the safety of the beach and/or the sea at the time of your excursion. Please exercise caution when entering the sea as the seabed and aquatic environment is capable of springing surprises and we have not inspected the beach or seabed for its safety. Children must be supervised by you at all times near water. All activities on the beach, water and in the sea are undertaken at your own risk.   • Panoramic Maui & Lahania On Your Own

    This snapshot of Maui offers memorable impressions of the ‘Valley Isle’, including free time for browsing the shops on Front Street in Lahaina.

    Panoramic Maui & Lahania On Your Own

    Leaving the pier by air-conditioned coach, you’ll venture through the town of Kahului, to Iao Valley State Park, site of one of Hawaii’s most famous battles. In 1790, King Kamehameha I destroyed the Maui army in an effort to unite the Hawaiian Islands, and changed Hawaiian history forever. The Park is also home to the Iao Needle, a vegetation-covered lava remnant that rises 1,200 feet from the Valley floor. Surrounded by mountain cliffs and an extinct volcano, the island’s famous landmark is a sight to behold.

    Continuing on through the Valley, marvel at breathtaking vistas of the West Maui Mountains on one side and the majestic Haleakala Crater on the other. As your Journey takes you out of the Valley and along the coast you can admire views of sandy beaches, turquoise waters and the nearby islands of Lana'i and Kaho'olawe.

    Your next stop will be the town of Lahaina which was once an important whaling village and served as the capital of the Hawaiian kingdom. Here you will have approximately 2 ½ hours to independently explore the many shops and restaurants along Front Street before returning to Kahului.

    This excursion will operate by bus. The journey time from Lahaina to Kahului is approximately one hour. Guests must be able to negotiate the steps onto and off the coach. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

    Maui is one of the world’s great whale-watch locations, famous for its resident and majestic humpback whales. Join this excursion to view the whales’ dramatic mating competition and reproductive behaviours.

    Your tour leaves from Maalaea Harbour onboard a Trilogy Catamaran. Trilogy's wide, comfortable, catamarans offer a stable viewing platform that makes this ocean experience safe for the whole family. On-board Naturalists also make this trip educational and entertaining and will present many interesting details about these magnificent underwater creatures.

    This excursion will operate by bus and catamaran. Please bring sunscreen and a hat. Deck or rubber-soled shoes are recommended. Spaces are limited, therefore early booking is recommended. The chance of seeing whales is very good, however not guaranteed. Guests must be able to negotiate the gangway onto and off the vessel.

Iao Valley State Park is home to the Iao Needle, a 2,250 foot cinder cone pinnacle that dominates the surrounding lush terrain. Enjoy a stroll in the park where you can absorb the tranquil atmosphere and admire the rolling valley that stretches out before you.

    Your tour would not be complete without a totally tropical experience, at Maui Tropical Plantation. A fully narrated 35-minute tram tour takes you past fields of tropical fruits and flowers, with plenty of great photo stops along the way. You'll see Hawaii's most popular crops such as coffee, bananas, macadamia nuts, and orchids as the tram rolls through the 60-acre working plantation. Upon your return to the village enjoy some time to wander through the beautifully landscaped gardens, enjoy a drink in the café or browse the shop for the perfect Hawaiian gift.

    This excursion will operate by coach and tram. Although there will only be around 15 minutes walking during this tour, guests are recommended to wear comfortable shoes. There are steps to negotiate at the tram station.

    If you wish to snorkel you will be provided with snorkelling gear, instruction and a great personal service, or simply sit back, relax and drink in the breathtaking scenery.

What would take weeks, if not a lifetime to explore in the wild, can easily be seen in a leisurely stroll around the centre. This aquatic experience is both educational and remarkable as you observe hundreds of endemic animal species.

    To enhance your experience, audio guides are provided while experts are also nearby to answer any questions you may have.

    Your amazing journey aboard a 65 foot, fully air-conditioned submarine presents an opportunity to experience Maui’s magnificent underwater world.

    The submarine dive site is located just two miles from Lahaina harbour. Your tour begins with a scenic drive along Maui’s beautiful coastline followed by a boat ride out to the Submarine and dive site. Upon arrival at the site, you’ll be transferred to the submarine to begin your underwater adventure. The Atlantis Submarine is the world’s most technologically advanced passenger submarine that descends to depths of 125-feet. To see colour changes at various depths, you may choose to wear clothes with red and/or fluorescent colours.

    You will witness this watery world through 2½ foot view-ports and see a variety of exotic tropical fish, coral gardens, moray eel and other fascinating marine life. The friendly crew will share their love of the ocean and explain how the ocean is so much a part of Maui’s rich culture and history.
