    Cruise through an amazing undersea world at depths of 65 to 100 feet as you embark on a voyage of discovery aboard the Atlantis Submarine. Atlantis Submarine is one of the premier attractions in the Caribbean, providing a unique exposure to a fascinating underwater world.

    A short boat transfer will take you out to the dive site to join the Atlantis Submarine. This 'aquarium in reverse' will provide you with a view of a world with marine life in its natural environment. The colour and abundance of spectacular sponge gardens and fascinating coral formations will be unveiled outside your porthole.

    All this time Atlantis is maintained at a cool air conditioned temperature and sea level pressure. Experienced crew will point out and describe the sights in detail as the various tropical fish pass within touching distance beyond the portholes.


    This excursion will operate by boat and submarine. Children under four are not permitted to participate and all participating children must be at least three feet tall. This tour involves very little walking, however guests must be able to negotiate an 11 step ladder into and out of the Atlantis Submarine, and nine steps on the transfer boat. The Submarine dive lasts approximately 40 minutes. The tour duration includes a 10 minute walk to and from the quayside. The views underwater are subject to local sea conditions on the day.

    A scenic drive takes you south of the island, passing though the historic South Sound area and Smith Cove, before continuing along the coast. During the drive your driver/guide will provide you with interesting facts about the island.

    Your first stop is Pedro St James Castle, often referred to as the birthplace of democracy in the Caymans, following its role as the meeting place of the first elected parliament in the Cayman Islands. Constructed in 1780, and later restored in 1996 to its original 18th century style, Pedro St James Castle is the oldest existing building in the Cayman Islands. During your visit, discover the wonderfully restored buildings, charmingly overlooking the Caribbean Sea, take a stroll through the beautiful gardens, and perhaps browse the gift shop for souvenirs. You’ll also have the opportunity to experience the effects of a real life thunderstorm at the multimedia theatre.

    Round off your tour at the Queen Elizabeth II Botanical Park. Spread across 76 acres of natural and manicured grounds, the park boasts wonderful displays of native flora and fauna, as well being home to the Blue Iguana, which can only be found in Grand Cayman.

    Boarding the Nautilus semi-submarine, you can explore the underwater paradise that makes Grand Cayman one of the world's top dive destinations without even dipping a toe in the water. See the fascinating coral reefs and learn all about the sunken wreck of the Cali. From the comfort of your air-conditioned cabin below the water's surface, you will have spectacular views of the Caribbean seascape and colourful tropical fish.

    Continuing by coach, your next stop is the Living Heritage Museum of Pedro St James, a plantation house that has been restored to its former glory. After passing through the beautiful area of South Sound, you will arrive at the magnificent house, with its views over the Caribbean sea. You will have the opportunity to learn about the colourful Caymanian past of this old family plantation and explore the grounds and vibrant tropical gardens.

    Finally, you will have the chance to sample one of Grand Cayman's specialities with a brief visit to one of the island's rum cake centres, before returning to your ship.

    An option that allows you to capture the sights of Grand Cayman from one end of the island to the other.

    Sights of Grand Cayman

    Depart from Georgetown, heading northward, passing the hotel zone, Seven Mile Beach, the Governor’s Mansion and the Old Homestead. During the drive a short stop will be made at ‘Hell’ a popular area known mainly for its unusual and eerie black jagged rock formations. You may even have the chance to send a quick postcard ‘from Hell’ at the post office.

    Afterwards, you will head to one of the islands Rum Cake Centres for a brief stop, before heading south along the coast. A photograph stop will be made to view an area of rugged coral rocks, referred to as the ‘Blow Holes’. You will continue to the ‘Wreck of the Ten Sails’, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Caribbean as you look out over the site of an old shipwreck.

    To round off your tour, a stop will be made at Rum Point Beach for around 45 minutes, where you may choose to dip your toes into the Caribbean Sea or stroll along the warm sand.

    As you make your way back to Georgetown, a brief stop will be made at the Old Guard House.

    After a short bus transfer, you will board the Nautilus semi-submarine for some fabulous underwater viewing.     Become acquainted with the underwater world, as you snorkel at two popular sites.

    With crystal clear waters that have a year round warm temperature, Grand Cayman is the perfect place for a spot of snorkelling.

    Leaving the pier, a brief cruise into the turquoise waters will take you to a popular snorkel site where you’ll see beautiful reef formations and a variety of fish, such as sergeant majors, parrot fish and angel fish. You may also be lucky enough to spot a turtle.

    Re-board your boat and head to the Wreck of the Cali. Positioned in around 20 feet of water, this sunken freighter is now home to an abundance of fish and marine life. Before taking to the water again, your crew will enlighten you with details of the ship’s history.

    Whizz out to Grand Cayman's premier attraction, Stingray City and spend some time with the amazing rays.

    After a short drive, passing Seven Mile beach you’ll board your motorboat out to Stingray City. Upon arrival, the experienced crew will provide you with a safety briefing before you enter the shallow waters of the sandbar which ranges from three to six feet in depth. This is a perfect environment to see the graceful stingrays as they glide over the sands and around you.

    Embark on a journey that is full of the sights and flavours of beautiful Grand Cayman.

    Climb aboard an air-conditioned motor coach and you're off to the Cayman Islands Brewery to learn how the only beer brewed on the island (Caybrew) is made and bottled. See the brewing process from start to finish and of course there'll be time at the end for a sample.

    Afterwards, head through downtown George Town, and pass by several famous landmarks, including Fort George, the Legislative Assembly Building, Heroes Square, the Peace Memorial and many of the numerous banks for which Grand Cayman is famous.

    At the Rum Cake Centre, you'll have a chance to sample Cayman's world-famous rum cake, before heading to the brewing facilities of Seven Fathoms Rum, where you’ll see the unique brewing process at Grand Cayman's first and only rum distillery. During a guided tour you’ll hear about the history of Cayman rum and culture, and of course enjoy a taste of the award-winning Seven Fathom's Rum. After the rum tasting, it's time for the short journey back to the pier.

    Setting off from George Town, your journey will take you downtown passing by several famous landmarks including the Peace Memorial and Heroes Square. You’ll also catch sight of the numerous banks for which Grand Cayman is renowned for.

    Your journey continues north along the coastline of Seven Mile Beach and on to Hell. Enjoy a short stop at this popular area, known mainly for its unusual and eerie black jagged rock formations, which gave rise to the name Hell. You may even have the chance to send a quick postcard ‘from Hell’ at the post office.

    Afterwards, you’ll head to Boatswains Beach Park which is home to the Turtle Farm, part of an ongoing breeding and conservation program. Here you’ll encounter Green Sea, Loggerhead and Hawksbill Turtles and you’ll also have the opportunity to view the Caiman exhibit.

    To round off your tour, enjoy a brief visit to one of the islands famous rum cake centres, before returning to the ship.

    Take a leisurely cruise across the azure waters to encounter the graceful Stingrays at the world famous Stingray Sandbar.

    After a brief bus ride, you will board the beautiful Allura catamaran for an enjoyable sail out to Cayman's number one attraction. Relax, soak up the sun or enjoy the cool breeze in the shaded areas during your leisurely sail.

    Upon arrival at Stingray City, you will see clearly the wonderful rays, which live in three to six feet of water. Conditions here are ideal for viewing and interacting with the amazing and gentle Southern Stingrays.

    After a safety briefing, you can enter the waters for an amazing encounter. One of the crew will feed the rays and bring them to the surface for you to see. The resident rays are very gentle and quite used to the people in their environment.

    Stingrays do not have teeth, but hard grinding plates and incredible suction power, which you may feel when feeding them. Although Stingrays possess a barb on their tails, they only use this if threatened.

    You and all those in your party should be aware that, in undertaking activity excursions, you will be involved in a degree of physical exertion and/or activity such as hiking, biking, snorkelling, kayaking, diving etc. By booking the excursion you confirm that you and all those in your party are in good physical and mental condition, with no history of conditions such as seizures, dizziness, fainting, heart condition, respiratory problems or back/neck problems (by way of example only). You should also ensure that no one in your party is taking medicine that carries a warning about impairment of physical or mental abilities. If you are pregnant this type of excursion may not be appropriate for you. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are fit and well enough to take part in the activities booked and you are reminded to take care for your own safety. Because of the risks associated with activity excursions, you may be asked by the excursion provider to sign a document which may affect or limit the excursion provider’s liability. Comfortable flat walking shoes are recommended.

    BEACH/WATER RELATED EXCURSIONS
    For any excursion involving water, guests are reminded to exercise particular care. Alcohol and eating a full meal should be avoided before swimming. If buoyancy aids are provided for an activity they must be worn at all times. You should bear in mind that the sea is unpredictable. Lifeguards are unlikely to be present and there may not be a flag system to indicate whether or not it is safe to go in the water. In addition, beach activities may not be supervised or accompanied and so you should take care to satisfy yourself as to the safety of the beach and/or the sea at the time of your excursion. Please exercise caution when entering the sea as the seabed and aquatic environment is capable of springing surprises and we have not inspected the beach or seabed for its safety. Children must be supervised by you at all times near water. All activities on the beach, water and in the sea are undertaken at your own risk. You’ll need to take swimwear, a towel, sunscreen and flat shoes that can be worn in the water.

    LIABILITY
    Cunard will arrange for the excursions to be performed by the relevant excursion provider. Cunard does not provide or supply the excursion services. Cunard will exercise reasonable care and skill in the selection of the excursion provider, but will not in any circumstances have a greater liability than the excursion supplier and Cunard shall not be responsible for the negligent acts/omissions of the excursion supplier. Please note that in relation to all excursions Cunard is not responsible or liable for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by you unless such loss, damage or injury arises out of a breach of legal duty of Cunard.

    TRAVEL INSURANCE
    Before booking any activity excursions it is essential that you ensure your travel insurance extends to cover the specified activity. It is your responsibility to obtain adequate insurance.

    This excursion will operate by bus and catamaran. Please note the water depth may be deeper than six feet and you may be required to swim to the rays. Children under eight may not participate. Buoyancy vests must be worn in the water. Please remember to wear your swim wear, take a towel and sunscreen. Footwear must be removed whilst on board the catamaran. Refreshments, photographs and souvenirs are available to purchase on board the catamaran.

    Permission to come aboard mates. Enjoy a swashbuckling tour of George Town, Grand Cayman.

    The open-air 'Trolley Roger' will take you past some of the oldest buildings in Grand Cayman, including the old Caymanian houses in the beautiful residential area of South Sound. As you take in all the sights and scenery, you will be regaled with tales of some of the island's visitors throughout history, which have included Sir Francis Drake and the notorious Blackbeard.

    After a short stop at a small beach, the journey continues along the scenic coastal road towards Hog Sty Bay and the harbour area, passing McCoy's Villa. Your tour will end in Georgetown, where you can pick up some 'booty' of your own at the nearby shops or return to the tender point.


    This excursion will operate by trolley train. It involves limited walking, however guests are required to take a five minute walk from the tender point to the trolley train. The beach stop is a photo and viewing opportunity only and not a swimming stop. Guests are advised that the surfaces at the beach stop are uneven, however walking there is optional. The Trolley Train ride is approximately 40 minutes. Spaces are limited, therefore early booking is recommended.
