  • Scenes and Tea on the Morne

Discover one of the crafts of the island, and relax at St Mark’s with an English tradition in a Caribbean setting.

Scenes and Tea on the Morne

Take a leisurely drive through the town of Castries as you head towards La Toc for a short scenic drive, offering picturesque views of the island.

A brief visit to Eudovic’s Art Studio will show you St Lucian wood work at its best. Smooth abstract forms are created from ancient roots found deep within the rainforest. You will also find mahogany, teak and red or white cedar wood products. Enjoy time to explore this small art studio and perhaps purchase a souvenir of your visit.

Afterwards, take a drive through the Morne region and onto St Mark’s – an old colonial-style home perfectly placed high in the hills, offering superb panoramic views of the city and beyond.

St Mark’s was built in 1887 on the foundation of an old lodge called ‘Diamond Jubilee Lodge’ and rebuilt again in 1942. Admire the antique furniture with some pieces dating back to 1890. Almost 95% of the hand-made furniture is St Lucian. During your visit a delicious array of savoury and sweet refreshments will be available with tea or coffee. Enjoy the time to do as you please, explore the house or simply relax and take in the views.

This excursion will operate by minibus. Eudovics’ Art Studio is small and may become crowded when busy. Guests are advised that there are some steps to negotiate on this tour. At St Mark’s the veranda has limited seating, however some additional seating may be found upstairs, which also affords pleasant views.
