    An opportunity to experience the fun of Seatrek in St Lucia.

    Seatrek

    Setting off from the port, you will drive through the capital Castries and head north of the island and on to Pigeon Island. Joined to the mainland by a man-made causeway, Pigeon Island is St Lucia’s National Park.

    Upon arrival, you will be given full instructions and a safety briefing, before your Seatrek experience. Enter into the water from a gentle slope on the beach and enjoy the sensation of walking on the ocean floor. All the while your face and head remain completely dry. Catch sight of a myriad of colourful marine life and walk alongside schools of Zebra fish. Stroll at depths of 20 feet whilst breathing normally - you can even wear your glasses.

    Afterwards, if time permits, enjoy some time on the beach before the return drive to the port.

    The art of silk screen printing remains prominent on the island of St Lucia with an abundance of studios offering lively colourful garments each individually hand-screened. You’ll visit the Bagshaw’s Art Studio to enjoy a demonstration of the silk screening technique. Afterwards, you’ll head to Marigot Bay viewpoint overlooking the Bay for a photo stop and to enjoy the pretty views and panoramic coastline. As you descend into the Bay you can enjoy a short stroll of the Marina before continuing to your next stop, the Pink Plantation House. The Pink Plantation House is French Colonial and believed to be over 140 years old. A guided tour of the house will show you its antique charm and you’ll also see the surrounding tropical gardens. There will also be an opportunity to discover the art of ceramic hand painting with a demonstration to show the delicate art work that is involved in each creation. To round off your tour, a cooking demonstration will be made to show you some typical St Lucian bakes. Samples will be offered along with a rum punch.

    A wonderful opportunity to see dolphins in their natural habitat in the deep blue waters off the St. Lucia coastline.

    Departing Castries Harbour aboard the 60 foot Defender sightseeing boat ‘Free Willy,’ sit back, relax and enjoy the surrounding coastal sights and scenery.

    The waters of St Lucia have a variety of different species of dolphin with the most common sightings being Spinner and Striped Dolphins. If you are lucky, you may also catch a glimpse of Humpback, Sperm or Pilot Whales as you cruise the St Lucia coast.

    Although there is never a guarantee of sightings, the crew are always optimistic.

The course was designed by Tom Ponko and is a 6,829-yard (6.2km), par-71 course, which winds through St Lucia’s northern hills. The layout has dramatic changes in elevation, water hazards and sand traps to challenge golfers of all skill levels.

    A brief visit to Eudovic’s Art Studio will show you St Lucian wood work at its best. Smooth abstract forms are created from ancient roots found deep within the rainforest. You will also find mahogany, teak and red or white cedar wood products. Enjoy time to explore this small art studio and perhaps purchase a souvenir of your visit.

    Afterwards, take a drive through the Morne region and onto St Mark’s – an old colonial-style home perfectly placed high in the hills, offering superb panoramic views of the city and beyond.

    St Mark’s was built in 1887 on the foundation of an old lodge called ‘Diamond Jubilee Lodge’ and rebuilt again in 1942. Admire the antique furniture with some pieces dating back to 1890. Almost 95% of the hand-made furniture is St Lucian. During your visit a delicious array of savoury and sweet refreshments will be available with tea or coffee. Enjoy the time to do as you please, explore the house or simply relax and take in the views.

    At the Rainforest Sky Rides Base, you will embark on a fabulous Aerial Tram ride through the forest canopy. The 16 open-air gondolas seat up to eight guests and a naturalist guide, travelling at a leisurely pace to see the forest treasures.

    Venture high into the mature Caribbean oceanic rainforest, nurtured by warm gentle rains and rich volcanic soil. Relax as the gondolas safely glide through and over the treetops, where knotted and woody vines wind to the top of the old forest trees.

    See the dense thickets of vegetation merging with the wild flowers and colourful berries. Smell the fragrant flowering trees of Giant Chatannier, Magnolia and Gommier.

    After experiencing the forest from above, you will take a 20-30 minute walk to explore the forest at ground level.

    The drive to the Rainforest Park is not narrated. The forest walk is optional and only suitable for those in good physical condition. There is uneven ground and numerous steps to negotiate.     Your adventure begins as you drive to the community of Chassin and on to the Rainforest Adventure Park, located at the base of La Sorciere Mountain.

    Upon arrival, you will be given a safety briefing and kitted out with all of your equipment ready for a burst of adrenaline. Follow your experienced guides for a short hike though the rainforest, before scrambling across the floating stairs that will deliver you to your first platform. Your guides will then hitch you up to a series of cables so you can zip from platform to platform, swing from the Tarzan Swing onto Tarantula’s Nest and enjoy the thrill of dropping from the ‘Boa Rappel’ platform.

    Setting off from the port, head up to Morne viewpoint for a panoramic view over the capital of Castries. Your journey will continue along the island’s roads lined with banana plants, and through the small St Lucian communities.

    Arriving in the village of Dennery, you will enjoy a photographic stop which offers spectacular views of the Atlantic ocean.

    Rejoin your 4x4 and head towards La Tille Waterfall. Marvel at the serene surroundings of fruit trees and plants before embarking on a short trek along the natural path to the waterfall. Enjoy the lush surroundings and perhaps cool off with a quick dip, before heading back to the pier.

    Take a leisurely cruise along St Lucia’s scenic coast for incredible views of the Pitons.

    Cruise along St Lucia’s west coast, passing by the La Toc Peninsular and small villages dotted along the shores.

    As you near Soufriere Bay, the twin peaks of Petit and Gros Pitons dominate the skyline – rising majestically, 2,600 feet from the sea. Be sure to have your camera ready to capture the green hills contrasting beautifully with the bright blue skies as you circle the Bay.

    From here you will cruise along to Anse Cochon, where you can take a refreshing swim. An assortment of light snacks, juices and rum punch will be served as you make your way to idyllic Marigot Bay, St Lucia’s most scenic natural harbour.

    As you make your way back to Castries, you can relax and take in the views whilst listening to the lively sounds of Caribbean music.

  • St Lucia and Hot Springs Mud Bath

    Discover the beauty of St Lucia and enjoy a dip in a hot mineral pool.

    Your journey will take you through Castries and up to Morne Fortune viewpoint to capture some lovely panoramic views.

    Afterwards, you will continue to the Marigot Bay viewpoint for a short photo opportunity, before wending your way to the town of Soufriere. As you descend into Soufriere look out for the spectacular twin peaks of the Pitons.

    Upon arrival, you will head to a hot natural mineral pool situated at the bottom of the Sulphur Springs Park. Here, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a dip, and perhaps feel the recuperative effects the pools are said to have.

    To round off your tour, you will head off to the Morne Coubaril Plantation to enjoy some local refreshments, before returning to Castries via the Millenium Highway.

Bathing at the pool is optional and is only suitable for those in good physical condition. There is around 45 minutes of walking over uneven ground, including steps. Flat, comfortable non-slip shoes are essential. The drive to Soufriere takes around 1½ hours and includes winding roads. The water temperature of the mineral pool can be very high. Please wear swimwear, take a towel and sunscreen. There is a freshwater shower however changing room and toilet facilities are basic and limited. Jewellery must be removed to avoid damage. Sulphur water is dark in colour and may stain your swimwear.

    Take a journey to the north of the island. At the Orientation Centre, you will be issued with your equipment, given a safety briefing and asked to perform some simple manoeuvres.

    Go off the beaten track on an adventurous journey through some of St Lucia’s most beautiful landscapes. Whizzing along the rugged, windswept Atlantic coastline see the Atlantic rollers crashing against the cliffs.

    Drive through the town of Castries up to Morne Fortune for fantastic views of the capital and the ship. Continue along the winding roads passing banana plantations en route to Soufriere, nestled at the base of St Lucia’s landmark twin peaks, the Pitons. See evidence of the island’s volcanic beginnings some 300,000 years ago and the bubbling mud pools of the Sulphur Springs.

    Take a leisurely walk around the beautiful Botanical Gardens, well known for their array of tropical plants and a tranquil waterfall. Afterwards, a Caribbean-style buffet luncheon awaits you at the Morne Coubaril Estate.

    Enjoy a scenic coastal cruise taking in wonderful views of St Lucia, as you relax with a refreshment from the open bar. During a brief stop at Anse Cochon, cool off with a swim before heading to Marigot Bay – a lovely natural bay that was chosen for the location of the original Dr Doolittle film.

    Stony Hill Great House is a privately owned home in the north of St Lucia. Surrounded by 1½ acres of meticulously landscaped tropical gardens, it offers lovely views and tropical surroundings. Enjoy a guided tour of the grounds and admire the orchid house, perfume trees, flower and cactus beds. Following your tour, a local pannist will play for your enjoyment on the Stony Hill Great House veranda, and a fruit juice refreshment and local delicacies will be served.

    Steel pans, also referred to as steel drums, originated from Trinidad and Tobago in the 1930’s and are synonymous today throughout the Caribbean. Just a short drive from Stony Hill is the small fishing village of Gros Islet, home to a local outdoor working panyard and practice ground for the ‘Pantime Steel Band’. The band makes a significant contribution to the steel pan culture in St Lucia and helps young Pannists through a series of workshops. Here, you’ll be shown a wide range of steel pans and be tutored in a few techniques. Enjoy the opportunity to try and play a few notes or perhaps even learn to play a simple tune.

    Once you have mastered the art of steel pan playing, you’ll take the return drive to the port.

This tour involves around one hour of walking over varying terrain which includes some uneven surfaces, cobblestones and steps.
