An air-conditioned minivan with an English-speaking guide and local driver is offered on this tour. This is a private vehicle; those accompanying you are family or friends with whom you agree to share costs. We do not match groups of passengers to form a private group for the vehicle. Minivans will take up to five guests.

Peterhof Palace and Gardens are situated on a hill overlooking the Gulf of Finland, Peter the Great built the Palace to rival Versailles, personally drafting the layout of the 300-acre Park and giving detailed instructions on the design of its spectacular system of fountains. Water is supplied from natural springs and collects in the reservoirs of the Upper Gardens. The elevation difference creates the pressure that drives most of the fountains in the Lower Gardens allowing all of the fountains to operate without the use of pumps.

See if you can spot any of the fountains that are located within the grounds designed with the specific purpose of soaking visitors! Two take the form of gangly trees rigged with jets that activate when someone approaches. Another, disguised as an umbrella with a circular bench set around the stem, drops a curtain of water from its rim when someone enters to take a seat.

Most famous is the Grand Cascade, with its gold statue of Samson prying open the jaws of a lion. The Samson Fountain is supplied by a special aqueduct, over 2 miles in length, drawing water and pressure from a high-elevation source. The Cascade is aptly named as water flows down terraced steps leading from the Palace down to the Lower Gardens. Spouting fountains spray streams of water over marble statues, culminating in a man-made canal leading out to the Gulf of Finland. After exploring the grounds, you’ll have the opportunity to tour the sumptuous Palace interior and marvel at the opulence of the Throne Room, Portrait Room, White Dining Room and Chinese Rooms.

This excursion will operate by coach and on foot.Private tours are non-refundable once confirmed. Actual vehicle type varies depending on availability and the number of guests in your party. Only ticket per party should be booked and the full cost will be charged to that person’s credit card. Once on board, you’ll receive a request for the names of each individual in your party. • Southampton Titanic Trail

Discover Southampton’s historic buildings and its links with the legendary Titanic on this fascinating walking tour.

    Southampton Titanic Trail

Titanic pulled away from the White Star dock in Southampton at the start of her maiden voyage on 10th April 1912. Five days later in the early hours of 15th April she sank after striking an iceberg. The disaster made headlines across the world and had a devastating effect on the people of Southampton. Of the 724 crew which lived within in the area - only 175 returned home.

Your interesting walking tour commences at Ocean Terminal, which is located adjacent to the site of the original White Star dock. A leisurely stroll will take you through Queen’s Park and past the luxury flats which used to be the old South Western Hotel. This hotel was where the First Class passengers stayed before embarking on the majestic liner. Close by are the old White Star offices where Southampton residents gathered in their hundreds, waiting day after day for news of loved ones.

A walk along Oxford Street will take you past some of the drinking establishments used by the ill fated crew including The Grapes pub, which is where filming took place for the famous ‘Titanic’ movie. At the end of the street are the ruins of Holyrood Church where a memorial to the Titanic crew stands. As you wander past the ancient Southampton walls and through the main shopping precinct, with its eclectic mix of shops, you’ll hear poignant tales of the Titanic heroes and survivors.

The highlight of the tour is a visit to the SeaCity Museum. This interactive Museum is filled with information and interesting memorabilia of the fateful disaster and illustrates the impact the liner has had on the city.

The next stop is Søgne, where you will take a stroll through Høllen, the former fishermen’s street.

Part of your tour will take you on a panoramic drive around Kristiansand. Take in the sights from the comfort of your coach, including the typical Norwegian architecture, charming wooden houses as well as the new residential areas, the small harbour and the Christiansholm Fortress. The return journey to Kristiansand will be by the coastal road, passing idyllic summer cottages along the way.

  • Stockholm Waterways

A boat tour is the simplest and most enjoyable way to acquaint yourself with the ‘city that floats on water’.

    Stockholm Waterways

Stockholm, strategically built where the freshwater Lake Mälaren meets the Baltic Sea, shows off her most beautiful side when seen from the water. Often referred to as ‘the Beauty on Water’, Stockholm is built upon 14 different islands and the mainland, all linked together by over 50 bridges.

Water plays an important role in everyday life. Boating, swimming and fishing are popular activities in this capital city, where over a third of the total surface area is water. While cruising the glittering waters, glide under bridges, pass through locks, and see most of the main sights of the city, including the Old Town with the Royal Palace, the magnificent City Hall, the Djurgården island, Vasa Museum, Skansen Open-Air Museum and the Tivoli ‘Gröna Lund’.

This excursion will operate by boat. Depending on your ship’s berth, you may either walk to the boat or take a short coach transfer. Refreshments are available for purchase on board the boat; local currency is required (Swedish Kroner).
