Board your boat for a scenic ride along the Arno River, which will allow you to see the principal sights of Pisa's historical centre while your guide gives commentaries on the monuments and the city's history.

Following your boat ride you will be transferred by trolley train to the main square of Pisa, the Field of Miracles. You guided tour of the square will include an exterior visit of the famous Leaning Tower, the Cathedral and Baptistery.

You will have around 45 minutes of free time to enjoy Miracle Square. Take some photographs of the incredible Leaning Tower, do a spot of souvenir shopping, enjoy an ice cream or relax in a nearby café.

Take note of the meeting point for your trolley train transfer back to the parking area, where you will rejoin the coach for the return drive to Livorno.


This excursion will operate by coach, boat and trolley train. Guests' must be able to negotiate steps on and off the coach as well as the trolley train and boat. The trolley has only limited storage for wheelchairs. The amount of walking during the free time is at guests' discretion; the terrain here is flat. Comfortable, flat shoes are recommended.

Take a scenic drive along the coastal road to Nice, passing through Beaulieu and Villefranche-sur-Mer. Upon arrival in Nice, you will take a guided walk through the narrow streets of the Vieille Ville — the Old Town. Afterwards, enjoy some free time to explore on your own, relax in a café or stroll through the delightful flower market.

Leaving Nice, you will drive along the famous Promenade des Anglais, then take the motorway to the glittering resort of Cannes. Upon arrival, you will have some free time to explore the Côte d’Azur’s most famous resort, home to the internationally renowned film festival. Stroll La Croisette, which separates the elegant town from parkland and beaches, browse the boutiques or view the pleasure boats in the marina.

A delicious luncheon of local delicacies will be served in a restaurant in Cannes.


This excursion will operate by coach and on foot. This tour involves approximately two hours of walking over relatively flat ground. Comfortable, flat shoes are recommended. Guests are advised to purchase a drink from one of the small cafés in Nice and Cannes in order to use the restroom facilities. On Mondays the flower market is replaced with a flea market.

Nice, the undisputed 'Queen and Capital' of the French Riviera. Take a drive along the Promenade des Anglais, a three-mile-long seafront boulevard with palms and flowers following the curve of the wonderful Bay of Angels.

Popular with both the young and the young-at-heart, the Little Train is an effortless way to discover Nice. Board the small tourist train for a narrated ride through Nice. See the narrow streets of the Old Town and pass by the Cours Saleya, where the local flower market takes place. Climb up to Castle Hill Park, which provides an excellent view over Old Nice and the glittering Baie des Anges.

You will have approximately one hour of free time to enjoy in the atmospheric Old Town. Stroll the beach front promenade, brows for local souvenirs or just relax in a nearby café.


This excursion will operate by coach and on road train. This tour involves limited walking however passengers must be able to undertake an approximate 15 minute walk from the coach parking area to the land train departure point. There are also some steps to negotiate, including those onto and off the coach. Passengers will also be required to undertake a certain amount of walking during free time. In order to use toilet facilities passengers are advised to purchase a drink from one of the small café. These are likely to be located on the basement level. On Mondays the flower market is replaced with a flea market.

On arrival in Florence, you will take a walk to Santa Croce Square with your Escort. Sightsee at leisure or enjoy ‘people-watching’ from a ringside seat at one of the cafés in the Piazza della Signoria. Re-visit some of the wonderful monuments missed on a previous occasion or browse in the elegant boutiques in the city or at the goldsmiths on the famous Ponte Vecchio.

This is the perfect tour option for those who want to take in some of the many museums Florence has to offer, such as the Accademia, Uffizi, the Medici chapels and many more.

Alternatively, you may want to take your place in the queue to visit the spectacular interior of the Duomo or climb the heights of its impressive dome for incomparable views of the city.

The day is yours to do as you please. Your Escort will arrange to meet at a specified time and place for the return drive to Livorno.


This excursion will operate by coach and on foot. This tour is non-guided and exclusive of lunch and entrance fees. The transfer to Florence takes around 1½ hours. Florence is pedestrianised with cobbled streets. Traffic is not permitted and the coach drop-off point is a 15-minute walk to and from the city centre. Flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended. The coaches cannot be held for latecomers and a return taxi to Livorno costs around $140.

The sleepy town of La Unión is located a short drive from Cartagena, and was once one of the most important mining districts in Spain.

The cluster of mines that contains the Agrupa Vicenta Mine is situated within the Sierra Minera, a small mountain range north of La Unión. Romans and Carthaginians extracted silver from this area over 2,000 years ago but more recently the mines were exploited for their zinc, iron, lead and pyrite – better known as Fools Gold due to its many similarities to Gold.br/>
On arrival in La Union you will be transferred by ‘Mine Train’ to the entrance of the mine and begin your journey into the subterranean maze of chambers vaults and pillars. With the aid of an audio visual presentation, lights and theatrics, the 150 year old workings of the mine will come alive as you pass old wagons used to transport minerals, mining keys and pyrite crystals on the walls. When you are 80m below ground you will discover an underground lake with water coloured by the pyrite to look like thick chocolate.

At the end of your tour enjoy a short flamenco recital from local La Unión residents before your journey back to Cartagena.

Upon arrival in Aix en Provence, your guide will take you on a walking tour of the old capital. Aix owes much to the nobles who built their fine houses and endowed the city with imposing public buildings from the 16th century onwards. Cours Mirabeau lies at the heart of Aix, aristocratic façades of old mansions line the avenue, with wrought iron balconies and finely carved doorways. Here you can admire some of the finest examples of the ‘healing’ fountains for which Aix is renowned.

Explore the old quarter and the beautiful Saint Sauveur Cathedral, which is exceptionally rich in works of art, and is noted for its Merovingian baptistery and grandiose organ.

Enjoy some free time on your own to discover the city further or indulge yourself in a spot of shopping in Aix en Provence’s many fabulous boutiques.

Marseille was founded in the 6th century BC by Greek settlers from Phocea, and was named ‘Massalia’. Today it is the second largest city in France, and is home to the country’s largest commercial port. Sit back, relax and enjoy your drive as you pass by the shopping district, and have your cameras at the ready, as a stop will be made outside Longchamp Palace and the beautiful fountain.

Winding your way round one of Europe’s oldest cities, admire the Cathedral de la Major, a huge and extravagant construction started in the 19th century in Neo-Byzantine style. View the gilded statue of the Virgin and Child housed over the bell tower of the Basilica Notre-Dame de la Garde, perched high above the city of Marseille.

A scenic drive will take you along the promenade to the Corniche. Admire the stunning views of the craggy coves and little beaches tucked away along the coastline, spot the spooky Château d’If, the city’s penal colony in a bygone era. Enjoy a little free time at ‘Le Vieux Port’ and watch the world go by from one of the many cafés or shop for souvenirs.

Upon arrival in to Monaco, your guided walking tour takes you through the narrow, twisting lanes and vaulted passageways of the old city. The picturesque buildings date back to the 14th century.

The Royal Palace is located in the west end of the old city facing the Place du Palais and still retains its medieval towers. An audio player narrates the Palace’s highlights as you tour the ornate state apartments, including the first Empire-style Throne Room and the Chambre d’York.

The St Nicholas Cathedral is built on the site of a 13th century church and is the site of the royal tombs. Princess Grace and Prince Rainier are interred in the cathedral, located in the heart of the old city. Thousands come each year to pay their respects.

During your visit, you will have some free time to explore the old town of Monaco and to browse the many charming shops.

The Royal Palace is closed to the public from November to mid-April. During these months an explanation of the exterior will be made and additional shopping time given. Photography is not permitted in the Royal Palace. Proper attire is required in The Royal Palace and St Nicholas Cathedral and beachwear is not acceptable. There are two flights of steps to negotiate at the Palace. Euros and major credit cards are accepted for purchases.

The fascinating Centre of Cartagena History is situated in the Tower of Homage, one of the few buildings that remain from the Castle of Conception. Here, up-to-date technology helps you to enjoy a relaxing ‘journey’ through the different civilisations. Enjoy panoramic views over the city and see the site of the Roman Theatre, discovered by chance in 1897.

Enter the Punic world in The Interpretation Centre of the Punic Wall, which protects the remains of the wall once used to defend Cartagena. An informative audio-visual presentation will highlight the Punic Wars from the viewpoint of one of the characters. A visit will be made to the 16th century crypt to see the now faint frescoes of Death, the Great Leveller, dancing on the Papal Crown.

The Roman period is well represented by two visits beneath the modern city. The Decumano will show you a tract on the main Roman thoroughfare, lined with the remains of the thermal baths and shops.

A wonderful way to see the city of Lisbon without having to walk around the city. Have your camera at the ready as you enter the area of Belem and view the Presidential Palace, The Monastery of Jeronimos, Tower of Belem and the Monument of Discoveries.

Drive through the exclusive residential district where many of the foreign embassies are located and then see the impressive 18th Century stone aqueduct, 11 miles long, which until recently was used to bring fresh water into Lisbon. A stop will be taken at Belvedere to admire the panoramic view across the city.

Afterwards, drive down the famous avenue of Liberty to Rossio Square, to see the Santa Justa Elavator, designed by an apprentice of the famous Gustave Eiffel. Finally you will see the one of the most impressive squares in Lisbon the Praca co Comercio (Black Horse Square).

Originally an Etruscan trading post, Pisa grew to be one of the greatest commercial and seafaring towns in the Mediterranean. Today, Pisa offers Renaissance splendour intermingled with modern shops and lively cafés.

The setting for the famous Leaning Tower and splendid Cathedral is the Field of Miracles. Here you will also find the Baptistry and Campo Santo. The Cathedral is one of the finest Pisan-Romanesque buildings in Tuscany; its wonderful four-tiered façade is a medley of colonnades and intricate arcades.(exterior visit only)

The foundations of the Leaning Tower of Pisa began to subside when the builders reached the fourth storey, and each year it was said to lean a little more. A band around the tower prevented further lean, and the tower is now in the same condition as it was in 1810 (exterior visit only).

Time permitting, you will have a chance to do a spot of shopping and browse Pisa's many souvenir stalls.

During your cruise you will see some of the city’s most well-known icons including the Agbar and Maphre Towers, Antoni Gaudi’s unfinished masterpiece; the Sagrada Familia and the old harbour, to name a few.

BEACH/WATER RELATED EXCURSIONS
For any excursion involving water, guests are reminded to exercise particular care. Alcohol and eating a full meal should be avoided before swimming. If buoyancy aids are provided for an activity they must be worn at all times. You should bear in mind that the sea is unpredictable. Lifeguards are unlikely to be present and there may not be a flag system to indicate whether or not it is safe to go in the water. In addition, beach activities may not be supervised or accompanied and so you should take care to satisfy yourself as to the safety of the beach and/or the sea at the time of your excursion. Please exercise caution when entering the sea as the seabed and aquatic environment is capable of springing surprises and we have not inspected the beach or seabed for its safety. Children must be supervised by you at all times near water. All activities on the beach, water and in the sea are undertaken at your own risk. You’ll need to take swimwear, a towel, sunscreen and flat shoes that can be worn in the water.

TRAVEL INSURANCE
Before booking any activity excursions it is essential that you ensure your travel insurance extends to cover the specified activity. It is your responsibility to obtain adequate insurance.

This excursion will operate by coach and catamaran. This tour may be cancelled in poor weather conditions. Guests are reminded to wear sunscreen. There are approximately five steps to board the boat. Please wear your swimwear and bring a towel if you wish to sunbathe.

Take in the sights as you travel by motorway to the colourful Etruscan countryside, rich in vineyards and olive groves. A stop will be made at the quaint hill town of Tuscania. Your escort will show you the charming centre of this Etruscan settlement and describe how it developed in medieval times with magnificent walls, ramparts and churches. Alternatively you may wish to explore on your own.

You will have some free time in the small town of Tuscania to wander the narrow cobblestoned streets and absorb the old town atmosphere.

A highlight of your tour will be the visit to an 'agriturismo' farmhouse. The owners will welcome you and offer some samples of the organic regional specialties, including wonderful olive oils and local wine. There will also be an opportunity to purchase some of these delicious homemade products.


This excursion will operate by coach and on foot. The walk from the coach to Tuscania town takes approximately 10-15 minutes over an incline and some cobblestoned surfaces. The shops in Tuscania are independently owned and shops may be closed during your visit. Tuscania is a small town and is noticeably quieter in the afternoon and during off peak season. There are steps to negotiate at the farmhouse. Flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Euros accepted for local purchases.

Your journey will take you through the beautiful New Forest National Park, where you will have the chance to see the famous New Forest ponies which graze on the wild heathland, before arriving at Exbury Gardens. Created in the 1920’s, Exbury Gardens are a spectacular 200 acre site, world famous for the Rothschild collection of rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias, rare trees and shrubs. So spectacular are the gardens that the Queen of England enjoys private visits every year.

The Gardens have been specially created to reflect the changing colours of nature throughout the different seasons. During the spring the magnolias, camellias, azaleas and wisteria burst into flower, whilst the Daffodil Meadow is a carpet of glorious gold. The spectacular collection of over ten thousand rhododendron specimens is at its best with its display of beautiful colours.

During the tour there will be the opportunity to take a delightful 20 minute ride on a small narrow gauge steam railway to see parts of the Gardens not accessible on foot.

The Gardens contain a quaint tearoom, which serves a delicious English cream tea (own expense), and an extensive gift shop selling an array of gifts and souvenirs.


Guests who are embarking or disembarking the ship in Southampton should not book a shore excursion for this port.  Southampton excursions are available for guests visiting Southampton as a port call.

The railway and main paths of the Gardens are wheelchair accessible. There is a buggy tour available on the day for those with limited mobility (additional expense, payable direct).

Rising above the heart of the city is the richly decorated Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore (Duomo). Standing in its shadow, you will not be surprised to learn that this is the fourth largest church in the world.

See the most striking square in Florence, Signoria Square. The massive Palazzo Vecchio with its high fortress-like walls dominates the Piazza. Here, you can see a copy of Michelangelo's famous statue 'David'.

Santa Croce Square is one of Florence's most pleasant squares. See the lovely church, surrounded by numerous shops and quaint cafés (church exterior only).

Photograph the famous 14thcentury bridge over the River Arno, the serene Ponte Vecchio.

Enjoy some free time for a quick luncheon before heading off for a brief visit to Pisa. Once in the famous and surprisingly small town of Pisa, view the 'Field of Miracles', site of the Cathedral and, of course, the Leaning Tower.
