What is the smoking policy on board Cunard ships?

The safety, comfort and enjoyment of all our guests has always been a key
concern at Cunard. With this in mind, as a direct result of the feedback we
have received from our guests, we have amended our policy with regard to
smoking on board Cunard ships. Smoking is no longer permitted in any public
area with the exception of Churchill’s Cigar Lounge (cigars only) and
designated areas on the open decks. Smoking is permitted on private
balconies.

Are there medical facilities on board?

It is comforting to know that the on board medical centre is staffed by full-time registered doctors and nurses (Queen Mary 2 has the largest medical facility at sea). In addition to twice-daily office hours, they are available 24 hours a day in the event of an emergency.

These facilities are not intended or designed to provide ongoing treatment of pre-existing conditions. If you anticipate a need for medical services aboard ship, your special requirement must be cleared in writing with Cunard before your booking can be finalised. Since medical facilities are limited and shoreside medical care is not readily available, women who have entered their 24th week of pregnancy by the end of their voyage cannot be accommodated.

Charges for medical services will be added to your shipboard account, and you will be provided with an itemised account to submit to your insurance company. Please verify with your insurer that your coverage applies outside your home country. If not, we advise you to purchase appropriate travel insurance.

Where can I keep my valuables?

All staterooms are equipped with a safe into which you can programme your own personal code.

What if I need a special diet?

We will do our best to accommodate your requirements. Please advise us of your needs at the time of booking or at least six months prior to departure, whichever is the sooner.

Is there a good library on board?

There’s no need to pack heavy books. All the ships have excellent libraries (Queen Mary 2 has the largest library at sea) and wide range of well stocked book shops to make your holiday even more relaxing and enjoyable.

Should I take my camera?

Yes definitely. Our carefully selected ports, the illuminating shore excursions and glamorous evenings with new friends will provide plenty of moments you’ll wish to capture forever. Additionally the official photographer on board will take pictures during your voyage. These will be on show and available for purchase at the Photo Gallery.

What activities and entertainments are available?

There’s plenty to do and a full list of what’s available each day will be shown in the Daily Programme which you will receive each day in your stateroom. Activities include: informal talks, port lectures, academic and cultural enrichment programmes, celebrity speakers, computer classes, aerobics classes, sports tournaments, games, quizzes, competitions, as well as concerts, musical shows and cabarets. You can also catch up on movies and play the tables in the casino.

Do you have hair dryers on board?

Yes, every stateroom has a hair dryer.

Can I dine in the Queens Grill if I pay a supplement?
