Highlights

ALBERT DOCK
Once Liverpool’s window to North America, Albert Dock and its brick warehouses have been restored to create Liverpool’s premier heritage attraction.

CHESTER
The city began life in the first century A.D. as Deva, a Roman castra stativa or permanent garrison. Portions of the original Roman walls are still visible.

CHESTER CATHEDRAL
The 13th century Norman cathedral was originally an abbey church. Chester was raised to cathedral status following Henry VIII’s dissolution of the monasteries in 1550.

CONWY CASTLE
Edward I began construction of Conwy Castle in 1283 as part of his campaign to secure Wales for the English crown.

MATTHEW STREET
The Beatles appeared nearly 300 times at the Cavern Club between 1961 and 1963.

PENNY LANE
Photograph the street sign immortalised by the Beatles.

PORT SUNLIGHT
William Hesketh Lever built this model village to provide housing for the workers in his soap factory. Port Sunlight’s standard of housing was remarkable for its time.

SNOWDONIA NATIONAL PARK
Created in 1953, Snowdonia National Park encompasses 2,171 square kilometres. Considered the crowning glory of Wales, Snowdonia boasts wild rocky mountains.

THE BEATLES STORY
This multimedia exhibit chronicles the ‘Fab Four’ from their days in Hamburg to their final break-up.

THE LADY LEVER GALLERY
The gallery’s 30 rooms provide a superb repository of English painting including works by Reynolds, Gainsborough, Turner, Constable, and the Pre-Raphaelite school.
