PETRIFIED FORESTThe only forest of this kind in Europe and estimated to be 20 million years old. Volcanic activity during ancient times caused the forest to react and morph into this state. Visitors are able to visit 2.3km of this National Forest and admire the fossils and preserved trees which appear as though they are still alive.
