Andrew Holgate
Andrew Holgate is literary editor of The Sunday Times, and has spent his whole working life in the book world, in bookselling, publishing and literary journalism. Co-editor of two books - The Test of Time: What Makes a Classic a Classic? and The Cost of Letters - Andrew is a regular judge on book awards, among them the Samuel Johnson prize for non-fiction, the Somerset Maugham award, the Betty Trask award, the Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award, and the Sunday Times/EFG Private Book Short Story Prize.

Chris Benn
Chris Benn is head of astronomy at the Isaac Newton Group of Telescopes on the island of La Palma in the Canaries. La Palma's night sky is one of the best in the world for astronomy, and the island's peak hosts many of Europe's
best optical telescopes, including the world's largest. Chris uses these telescopes to investigate quasars, and to search for planets around other stars. Chris trained as a physicist and radio astronomer, and worked at Britian's first hands-on science centre before taking up a post with the Royal Greenwich Observatory in 1986. Chris is the author of the world's first 4-dimensional crossword.

Christopher Buckley was born in New York City in 1952. He was educated at Portsmouth Abbey, shipped in the merchant marine and graduated cum laude from Yale. At age 24 was managing editor of Esquire magazine; at age 29, chief speechwriter to the Vice President of the United States, George H.W. Bush. In 1989 he became the founding editor of Forbes FYI magazine (now ForbesLife), where he is currently editor-at-large.
He is the author of fourteen books, which have translated into sixteen languages. They include: The White House Mess, Wet Work, God Is My Broker, Little Green Men, No Way To Treat a First Lady, Florence of Arabia, Boomsday, Supreme Courtship and Thank You For Smoking, which was made into a motion picture starring Aaron Eckhart and Robert Duvall.
He has written over 60 comic essays for The New Yorker magazine, and writes regularly for The New York Times. He write a popular weekly blog for Tina Brown’s website, The Daily Beast.
His awards include the Thurber Prize for Literary Excellence and the Thurber Prize for American Humor.

Cunard is proud to present the Royal Astronomical Society speakers on board for the second year. Fellows from the RAS will present talks, lectures and debates. Star gazing on deck (weather permitting) will also be offered with the use of telescopes with guided sessions from the experts. All guests are cordially invited to either bring along binoculars or use the on board telescope. Learn about the constellations, meteorites, space travel and how astronomy provides the scientific answers to many of life’s mysteries.
