Jerome O'Connor
A professional journalist and the U.S. Naval Institute Author of the Year, Mr. O'Connor specializes in revealing history making and history changing occurrences in publications and through presentations. A dynamic speaker and former actor, he was the first journalist to reveal the existence of five massive former U-boat bases in occupied France during World War Two. In 1978, for the Chicago Tribune, he disclosed the then unknown and intact central London war headquarters of Prime Minister Winston Churchill. Feature articles have appeared in the Chicago Tribune, British Heritage, Naval History, Perspectives, World War Two, and other publications. Mr. O'Connor's best received programmes will be presented on this voyage.

John Maxtone-Graham
John Maxtone-Graham is perhaps the most articulate of the world’s maritime historians-as devastatingly well – informed, as he is entertaining.He has enjoyed a long and mutually beneficial relationship with many ships of the Cunard Line. He has written three Cunard histories over the years as well as a huge book about Queen Mary 2.But above all, Maxtone-Graham is and always has been a dedicated passenger, devoted to shipboard. He and his wife Mary spend more than half their year sailing all over the world aboard cruise ships, entertaining their fellow passengers to perfection.

Stephen Payne
Stephen Payne's appointment as project manager for Cunard's Project Queen Mary is no doubt the greatest and most prestigious assignment that any naval architect could wish for. Stephen himself has been involved in the planning and building of Carnival tonnage since the time of HOLIDAY's construction in 1985. The new ROTTERDAM, is the first newbuilding for which Stephen was project manager. All of this is the ultimate realization of a dream and an ambition which Stephen first set his sights on at the age of nine years. Two years later Stephen was using the letter-writing skills learned at school to contact Cunard, P&O, French Line and Holland America about future employment opportunities in passenger shipping. He was encouraged to pursue an academic line of education, graduating in 1977 from a secondary comprehensive school in London. Ultimately, Stephen interests turned towards ship design, and he enrolled in the Ship Sciences and Naval Architecture programme at Southampton University. After working a short while for Marconi Marine, who was bidding on contracts for naval replenishment ships, Stephen was finally contacted in late 1984 by the naval architectural firm, Technical Marine Planning, with an offer to work on passenger ship design. This was a belated response to an application made earlier. By January of the following year he was working with TMP on the Carnival cruise ship HOLIDAY. The company has now brought their design work into their own Carnival Corporation Technical Services division in London, with Stephen as senior naval architect. He is a Royal Institution of naval Architects (RINA) bronze medal winner for his written work. His byline is also known to readers of CFI and our sister publications Guide and Designs.
